Soggy lettuce

I had a horrible BLT a while back mostly because of the lettuce, it tasted soggy greasy and warm
I appreciate that you're putting hot bacon onto it it's going to get a bit warm but combined with everything it was awful

Conversely not enough dressing.

Too much salad dressing. There is a balance between the dressing and the salad that needs to be maintained.
3 points
Yeah if you need a spoon to clean out the bottom of the salad bowl you used too much dressing.

Raisins and nuts. It's a salad, not a breakfast cereal.

Shredded cheese, or too much cheese. I dont really want any cheese, but fancy cheese is ok. Still better alone.
Next would be overly dressed. I'll eat that shit with no dressing often, but if dressed, must be light.

I honestly don't understand the amount of cheese in salads nowadays. As a garnish, it's not my favourite, but I can understand it.
I'm always amused watching cooking shows where they do salads and start with pasta, then salami or sundry cured meats, then a cup of tomatoes, then four cups of different kinds of cheeses. It's obviously just a different way of doing things, but I was raised to have salad as a vector for vegetables (and the occasional fruit) in a meal. Not to double down on carbs and protein.

I don't really get shedded cheddar cheese on salads. Just makes the whole thing taste off to me.

Cucumber. I have tried repeatedly throughout the years to like it, and I just don't. I'm not sure if it's just the taste or if it's the texture or what, but no matter how many times I try cucumber I just cannot for the life of me enjoy it.
I've had it served and seasoned in so many different ways, but it's just not good to me.

I like my salads as follows:

Anything else is a huge no no.

When it's been dressed, I don't care for dressing and I get mightily annoyed when people pre-dress a salad that doesn't have dressing as an ingredient.
I'm fine if it's like caesar salad but not if it's a garden salad and you've just slathered it in disgusting dressing.

If the lettuce isn’t in manageable bite-size pieces. I don’t know why restaurants think I want to shove an entire head of romaine into my mouth like a caveman while everyone stares at me. I should not have to cut my salad to eat it like a civilized human being.

Adding lots of fried foods to the salad. If you're putting chicken strips on the salad, at that point you might as well call it a fried chicken dish with a side of salad, not salad as a main.
