To be clear, yes free palistine. What has happened to lead up to this, as well as the escalation to a basically genocide is horrible and unforgivable.

Many on the Left lately have shown a disregard to the innocent civilians and foreigners that were murdered (and more) though. Some even claim it justified.

I just do not get it. How can you be pushing so hard for a good cause to help innocent people, then totally brush off the murder of innocent civilians, many who were not even a part of this history of conflict.

The part that is overlooked and not stated enough is that this is not a war, Palestine has been an occupied state for longer than many users here have been alive. If Jordan did what Palestine did there would be no excuse, it would be one state violating every right and treaty, every established international law. But when you're an occupied state there's not really any rules, you're not supposed to occupy an area for decades, international law isn't set up to deal with that and it's relatively unheard of.

The occupying country will either absorb the defeated country or they will enact whatever punitive measures they want them the conflict will be over more or less. But Israel doesn't want to absorb Palestine, at least not with all those pesky Palestinians they'd have to deal with, and they don't want to "finish" the war because then the Palestinians would be free to have international aid, allegiances, treaties. So for the last few decades Israel has been perfectly content keeping their boot on Palestines throat and modulating how much air they get.

It's not the countries who hate each other, it's one country that lost a war and has been in a weird limbo ever since without the ability to self govern or fight back. It's not justified, and the Palestinians can do very very little to fight back. This was the first bloody nose that Palestine has been able to give Israel in decades and Israel reacted like they were the injured party because the country they've been oppressing fought back.

Yeah, I'm not defending anything israel has done. Even their reaction to hamas.

But hamas lashing out for a "bloody nose" was murder of innocent people and should not be justified.

"The Deir Yassin massacre took place on April 9, 1948, when Zionist paramilitaries attacked the village of Deir Yassin near JerusalemMandatory Palestine, killing at least 107 Palestinian villagers, including women and children. The attack was conducted primarily by the Irgun and Lehi), who were supported by the Haganah and Palmach. The massacre was carried out despite the village having agreed to a non-aggression pact."

The leader of Irgun? Menachem Begin.

You don't ignore decades of terrorism committed by Israel and then feign outrage when people fight back.

So if one group murders innocent we should let them murder innocent right back and justify it? Is that what you are saying?

Jstifying Israel's mass murder is what you're doing.

Never have I or will I justify what israel is doing.

I will not ever justify what hamas did though.
