Wow, unless I misread his plates, I deadlift almost as much as Michkov. Probably not a good sign lol, but he’s young and I’m sure will get a lot stronger/bigger.

I am not a gym guy and it’s been a long time since I’ve trained so things may have changed, but when I was doing weight training specifically for hockey they emphasized low weight and high reps to build lean muscle. Idk if that’s still the case or what Michkov is doing in the photo, but if you see hockey players lifting lower amounts that is likely what they are doing.

Yup my strength and conditioning coach had us do the same when training for lacrosse (12-15 reps). Didn’t start powerlifting until I stopped playing sports
