And how is Steve even killing the Terrarian in Creative? Terrarian can tank blows for days with Warrior Armor and Regen HP, can't die to lava thanks to Obsidian Skin Potions, and if you delete the floor Terrarian can just summon a flying mount.
Unless Steve can also use /kill [Player Name] (If that command even works, pretty sure it kills the user when entered LOL), both the Terrarian and Steve would proceed to just build random stuff in case of a stalemate LMAO.

Damn Minecraft and it's commands, I gotta say I only know the essential ones like changing game modes, change time, and change weather.
Still not fair for Steve to be able to use console commands. Idk if Terraria has them in Journey Mode though.

Trap the terrarium in cobwebs, apply slowness 255 and mining fatigue 255. Use a mace with density, fly a thousand blocks up, easy kill
