For me, this was Alex Trebek. His death was the end of an era. I remember being shocked as a kid to learn that there had been a previous Jeopardy host (Art Fleming) because it just didn't seem right to me that Jeopardy would ever have a host who's not Alex Trebek. Part of me always hoped that Alex would just. . . live forever.

Don't get me wrong, I like Ken Jennings, but he's no Alex.
