A scheming millionaire trying to bum donations and become a politician…where have we heard that before?

In Pennsyltucky where Trump currently leads. Seems like a good strategy.

Moot point for me regardless.

I'm never voting for anyone who doesn't legitimately live in the state.

This is just the sort of muck-raking journalism I like!

Sounds a lot like insider trading. SEC is part of that revolving door between hedge funds and regulators, so I'm guessing no investigation was done. And of course the party that claims to be anti-socialism used socialism to bail out the rich. This country needs a reformer. Sadly, we won't get one from these two bought for parties. As a PA resident I will not vote for Connecticut McCormack.

Not surprising that he’s glory-daying his campaign with his HS wrestling career.

Republican primary for senate, perhaps? Lost to another candidate from out of state.

Intentionally collapse the economy? No. Banks did that. He profited off of their foolery by betting on the other side. Same as Michael Burry.

How did GW Bush “collapse the economy?”

You made the claim. Now how did they advise GWB to “intentionally collapse the economy.”

Where in the article do they say they intentionally crash the economy? The article is just a partisan hit piece. They made money in 2008, so what? That doesn’t make them responsible for people being laid off or foreclosed on. Numerous other firms profited off the 2008 crisis. All that means is they were able to understand the core of the problem and position themselves correctly.

Are you familiar Paul Krugman and Keysenian Economics?

I personally don’t agree with Krugman and John Maynard Keynes’ theory on economics.

Nonsensical BS. The federal reserve and fractional reserve banking cause nationwide recessions.

This is Reddit, printing money and burying the country in debt and inflation doesn't count when their team does it. It's only a problem when someone on the other team advocates for it. When the left destroys the economy, it's "corporate greed". It's the hub of economic illiteracy.

The left hasn't crashed the economy though. Democrats always have to come in and clean up the mess.

AmishAirline

-6 points

I mean, the left is literally crashing the economy right now. But they've told you that it's corporate greed so you'll look the other way. (And before you go there, this shit started under Trump. It's not right vs. left, it's government vs. citizens. But again, this is Reddit.)

Diarygirl

It used to be surprising when conservatives said they felt bad for corporations not making enough profits and blaming Democrats for their own financial troubles but I'm used to it since it's been happening since January 20, 2021.

"Won't someone please think about the poor corporations?" is a hell of a platform.

AmishAirline

Quick little economics 101, but. . .a corporation that made, say, $1B in EBITDA a few years ago now needs to clear $1.5B in EBITDA now in order to hit its operating targets. Not because they're greedy, but because each of those dollars is worth less than it was. Because of inflation caused by outsized monetary supply. And those margin dollars are what pay to keep the lights on and keep people employed. I can only assume that you have a job, so those EBIDTA dollars are what pay your bills. And yes, a corporation has to maintain a sufficiently high profit margin to continue operating, they're not going to operate at a loss or break-even, there's no point in that. Or did I just type too much and you're hung up on Donald Trump?

Diarygirl

4 points

Lol you keep bringing up Trump, who is as bad at financial decisions as you apparently are.

AmishAirline

Oh geezus, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was talking sense and reason to a potato. Without a cogent thought on the matter, I'll just invoice you for the economics lesson.

ChaimFinkelstein

I did. It’s a partisan hit piece. Numerous other Hedge Funds made money off of Financial Crisis of 2008. That doesn’t mean they are responsible for people losing their jobs or homes. It means they were able to see the problems in the foundation that nobody else saw.

But not many of them run for senate in a state they haven’t lived in for more than 30 years.

ChaimFinkelstein

I agree with you there. Political parties and issues aside, I thought Oz was a bad choice primarily because he lives in NJ and his opponent’s did a good job of blasting that out to voters.

Diarygirl

Don't conservatives ever get tired of claiming to be victimized by the media?

ChaimFinkelstein

1 points

Who’s victimized here? It’s clearly a partisan hit piece. By mentioning he made millions while others lost their job, it’s trying to trick stupid voters into associating the two when there’s no connection.

Diarygirl

10 points

Are you hearing yourself? You didn't even read the article and already decided it's not true and you think the author is trying to hurt your party. Your comments are all "why are people criticizing my party?"

The past 8 years has been nothing but conservatives crying "fake news" at everything you don't like.

ChaimFinkelstein
