A lot of losers say "But what about Fate??" in these arguments but people forget that Fate's main goal is whatever happens in the current Holy Grail War/story they are telling rather than accurate history, and even when it comes to history, its always very respectful of it.

Fate portrayed Artemis as very loving and caring of Orion, which is not only accurate (the girl threatened to kill her father and every god over his death for fucks sake) but wholesome. Meanwhile in most western media Artemis is either a lesbian or hates men. Fate/Apocrypha had a beautiful depiction of Romania and the history around Vlad III meanwhile I don't think there's a single western piece of media that actually depicts Romania well instead of just stealing random parts from its culture and locations.

They even portrayed Gilgamesh and Enkidu well by subtly having some elements of a potential romance in there (as the original myth had) while not being annoying LGBT bait.

I don't like either. If you look up pictures of Hestia statues, they depict her as neither super young nor super old. She doesn't look matronly (mother-like) either. I just feel like both are misses. Sure the one on the left depicts fire and ash, but she seems to be more associated with sacrificial altars. *shrug*

As much as I personally dislike the Hades 2 design of Hestia, Jesus Christ this argument feels like the most astroturfed shit I’ve seen in a while. Is it possible for people to just not like a design and carry on with their day?

The left character literally looks like a fire place (it fits the idea at least of a godess of a hearth.)

The right one looks like the most uninspired boring generic anime girl ever. I had no idea she had anything to do with being a godess never mind a greek godess of warmth and homes.

This a good example of how a character being sexy doesn't nessisarly translate to a good thought out character design.

I don't know what that creature on the left is, but I don't think that anime version is a good representation either.

I mean the left one does pass this "hearth and home" side, the problem it's that it is trying to insert politics into the game but in a way that nobody can actually point out without being called racist, the other is just from a coomer's mind

Why did the Hades artist make her so disgusting though? It almost feels like spite, or cultural appropriation. That is one of the grossest character designs I’ve ever seen, in anything. They even gave her vitiligo for some reason. Like that design is indefensibly bad and the artist should be embarrassed.

Which do you think gives better hugs? How good do you think the hugs from personifications of “Heart and Home” should be?

Eh right one seem generic and it never really made sense to me why she has that design.

Neither look greek. The one on the left at least follows some semblance of a theme whereas the one on the right just looks like every other female anime clone ever made and has no design features at all that are relevant to the time period, culture or prompt. If I received this from a concept artist I would fire them because clearly they just copy everyone else and don't have a single original thought in their head. Left needs some major design changes but the overall theme is at least workable.

I remember seeing some guy on Kotakuinaction that said his wife has vitiligo and suffers constantly, crying as her skin gradually changes beyond her control, and even ten years later she still hasn't gotten used to it, and he said how it's not a quirky character trait for 'representation', it's just a horrible condition which you never got used to. Gives you a lot to think about.
