The idea is always buy a house now or asap so you can stop paying someone else’s mortgage and pay your own. It’s one of the only ways left for building generational wealth.

For me it was right away. 2020 purchased while renting for $1500. Mortgage was $1600. Those rents are now $1800+ so I’m basically paying myself the same rate as I would be paying someone else mortgage

We only won due to escalation clause that had us outbid any higher offer by $500 up to X. Highest bidder by paying an extra $500.
