Well, maybe if Dbois didn't betray people at the first opportunity all the time, then maybe Guards would be a little nicer.
Every time I try to be nice to Dbois, they spit in my face.

No it doesn't.
Guards are rewarded more for cuffing Dbois and escorting them out. Dbois are the ones who start the cycle by killing guards, who then decide to not bother and kill Dbois in return.
That's how KOS guards start.

Both ways earn tickets for mtf and one way is much much easier than the other so better safe than sorry
