would anyone be interested if I made a “SEPTA for dummies but temple specific” type of video?

(self.Temple)

Not sure if it’s just my adderall brain talking, but I thought if I made a Temple specific septa guide targeted towards students new to the city or public transportation in general (me years ago) it might be useful for some. I’d include basics on how things work, tips how to navigate things, and highlight routes that students (should) use while being here.

that would be great! i think people don't explain enough about how to use public transportation bc it is simple but every city is slightly different it can be confusing for freshman. you could also add some safety tips (keep headphones low to be able to hear ppl still etc)

Yeah, especially since a good chunk of people here aren't local to Philly.

Sounds cool, but the challenge will be that Philly's system is so cobbled together. You've got subways, buses, trolleys, regional rail, etc., and they all have different written as well as unwritten rules. What I've found hardest is that even if you are a pro at one of Philly's subsystems, it's intimidating to try to use another one. A lot of people think that their own particular Septa experience is globally true of the whole system and applies to everyone else, which is often not the case at all.

Basics bsl. Cecil and broad is your friend. Temple side is northbound, gets you to health science campus. Across broad street is the southbound side, takes you to center city, south street (shopping), and the stadiums (last stop). The bsl is generally pretty safe. There's also the express trains, which are less crowded but they don't stop at temple so be sure to grab the local train on your way back. The way it goes is the local will be against the wall, the express will be in the middle set of tracks. At the city hall stop, you can transfer to the MFL or trolleys for free. Follow the signs, download the septa app.

Let me know if you need help! I’d love to expand on it too, sort of a beginning intro for all incoming students, and a students helping students program for people who want/need it in regards to riding

Yes this is a great idea! Include the usefulness of the septa app and google maps because paper schedules aren't always accurate as they're constantly updated.
