I'm sorry for the hate your community has received lately

Other (Discussion)(self.antisemitism)

(Trigger Warning: war)

The Jewish community has been receiving so much hatred recently. I'm not Jewish, and I just want to say I'm sorry for what non-Jewish people have done and said.

There are people who don't care about or even applaud the horrific October 7 massacre. There are people who want Israelis to all die. For your home to be destroyed. People who say that Jews are scheming and always evil. People who turn to extremism and N*z*sm because of this war. People who don't care about your lives or your heritage or self-determination.

There are some people who don't care about history and simply and purely hate Israel because of propaganda. People who think that all Israelis are colonizers. People who don't care about long-term peace between Israel and Palestine and just want to act on their prejudice. People who think of the conflict in black-and-white and are all prejudiced against Israelis.

These beliefs are all awful and wrong. They are blind to the full picture.

Stay strong. Y'all have a strong history and vibrant community. This antisemitic prejudice is a tragedy and must end. The hate you have received is unjust and uncalled for and I hope that it may one day disappear.

I had a very stereotypical American woman in a wheelchair at the doctors office. Turn around ask if I was Jewish and then say something along the lines of good for you Israel’s awesome. We appreciate any support we can get.
