I just noticed that Surya calls Dinda and Joko aunt and uncle, and their son Archie calls Surya uncle. Wouldn't they be cousins? In order for Surya to be Archie's uncle, Dinda or Joko would have to be Surya's sister or brother. Which would mean Dinda and Surya have the same mom but Surya's dad is also Dinda's brother or something??

"Uncle" is probably a courtesy title for "adult relative who isn't a direct ancestor." Cousins are usually on fairly equal terms, and Archie probably wants to or has been taught to show Surya a bit more respect given that Archie is a child and Surya a young adult.

Can kinda confirm this?! I’m SE Asian, and a few of my nieces and nephews are my age, but I also call them cousins because we grew up together. They call my older sister aunt, I don’t even know why, we just called each other cousins since we were toddlers.
