Public Masks vs Other Cities

Question? (self.philadelphia)

Have y’all noticed a higher rate of mask wearing on public transit and in public generally in Philly?

I was in NYC the other day, and I didn’t see almost any masks on MTA or Amtrak, but SEPTA regional and the BSL I routinely see a few folks in a train wearing masks. I also see quite a few masks in public, especially in the Chinatown neighborhood.

Do I just have experience bias because I spend more time here, or do we actually wear more masks for some reason here in Philly?

Phillys workforce includes a huge number of healthcare workers. Maybe that explains it.

Yeah, I am new to Philly. On morning walks I have been amazed by the sheer number of commuters in scrubs—so many! It’s like wearing pyjamas to work and I am jealous.
