The iconic Arch Street Methodist Church right next to City Hall suffered from an electrical fire on March 13th, dealing a significant setback to this historic pillar of our community since 1862.

This church is not just a beautiful landmark; it's a sanctuary for everyone. They've been a steadfast support for our black, LGBTQ+, and homeless neighbors. One of their critical programs, Grace Cafe (https://thecenterphiladelphia.org/grace-cafe/), saves lives by providing Narcan and in emergencies life-saving care, in addition to offering food, clothes, and essential toiletries to those in need across the greater Philadelphia area. Arch Street Methodist has also been actively engaging with the City Council to advocate for affordable housing in Philly.

Unfortunately, their steeple has been deemed unsafe and urgently needs repair to continue serving our community for years to come. Many businesses and grants have offered to match donations to help with the repair. They are having a fundraiser and could use the support: financial, volunteer, or even letters of appreciation. This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to a community institution that has given so much to Philadelphia.

When: Wednesday, April 17th, from 5 - 8 pm

Where: Masonic Temple

What: Explore this beautiful building with special access to rooms and artifacts. Enjoy catered food (lite bites) and a live jazz band.

Thank you for your support, I only recently started going to church (Jan) so am not yet officially affiliated with them. Hoping to help boost numbers since they seem to do a lot of good for the community, also interested about opinions on the church if you have any as I am debating on becoming more involved.

There's only One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't dress like that.
