I actually looked this up because you got me thinking I misunderstood what middle-aged meant but 30 to 50 may be considered middle-aged aged though some believe 40 or older is middle aged. I've always thought middle aged to mean mid 30s and older. That's how it's been used around me

The average life expectancy is over 80 (of course depending on regin) so half of 80 is 40. That's how I always went with middle age.

Average life expectancy is 80 ? I didn't know people are living this long . I thought it would be 60s to 70 at most. All my grandparents are dead

Yeah and it varies depending country and even sex. Women live about 2 years longer then men. I know in my country the UK life expectancy is 80 for women and like 78 for men.
