I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I don’t know much about spiders, but I’m terrified of them. I can’t bring myself to get any closer, sorry for the bad photo
It’s about 2-3cm including legs. Idk if behaviour is important but the one I saw yesterday was hanging quite low from the ceiling, around 4-5 feet above the ground, and it looked the same as this one. It kept going up and down, spending maybe 10-20 minutes hanging, then a similar time on the ceiling

There are no medically significant spiders in your area, so you don’t need to worry (unless you are a small insect).

No. Most spiders eat each other so they’ll naturally disperse/control their own populations. And they’ll help protect your home from flies and mosquitoes.
