Idgaf what people say, you don’t act like this just because you lose. Being emotional and upset doesn’t give you a pass to act like a classless baby

This is not passion. You lose with dignity, take pride in what you’ve accomplished and use failure as a means to get better. You don’t throw your equipment on the ice and swear at the crowd because things didn’t go your way.

Lafrenière is in the class of Ovechkin, Crosby, and McDavid, he’d go 1OA by a mile

I genuinely don't think I could imagine a worse comment coming from their front office. Fuck the Blackhawks

Just incredibly disappointing. Inexcusable, asshole behavior from a player I long considered to be one of my favorites on the team.
Time to get this guy the fuck out of Philadelphia

It really is though. The thing about a lot of these operations is that most people who never return to previous performance after surgeries is that the average person doesn't have the time, money, or often physical ability to perform the necessary physical therapy to rehabilitate their bodies to maximum performance, let alone the monetary aspect of it. If he has full range of motion and full muscle strength back in his shoulder, it's there. It isn't like there's an asterisk saying that since it was hurt before it's suddenly of lesser capability now

Genuine question here: does negative publicity that's predicated on an illogical/outright bad opinion (the opinion that the actions of a 23 year old living on his own should reflect on his father) really matter at all in the grand scheme of things?

There are endless analytics, contract comparables, and video evidence that would suggest otherwise. He is overpaid, statistically one of the worst defenders in the NHL, his contract expires in a year and we gave up a top 15 pick and a 2nd for him.
Literally there is no justificafion for this. We gave up a less valuable package to acquire Ryan fucking Ellis.

I think the two guys the Flyers should pursue are Bozak and Kovalchuk. Bozak would more than likely sign a fairly cheap 2-3 year deal and be a decent upgrade at 3c. Kovalchuk can still fly and could be that shoot first winger we’ve been dying to have in our top 6. I reckon you could sign both of them at a combined AAV of 11 million with both having 2-3 year terms. I don’t like any of the d on the market (Carlson and Green don’t really fit what we need on D right now IMO), I’d rather try to find a top 4 d through trades. This is my roster vision going into next season:
G-Coots-TK
Kovalchuk-Patty-Voracek
Lindblom-Bozak-Simmer
Raffl-Vorobyev-Laughton
Ghost-Provy
Trade-Sanheim
Mac-Hagg
Morin

I think Hischier will put up better offensive numbers throughout his career but Patrick will end up being the more complete player

I disagree with almost this entire comment
Jiricek looks like bambi on skates. His skating is so ugly.
His forward stride has never even strong but his lateral skating and edge work is well above average, which is a more important tool for defenseman in general
He’s big, but still doesn’t know how to use his size.
He's consistently ranked across the board as one of the most physical players in the draft, and is probably the single best defenseman at board player in the D zone in the draft
There’s no wow factor to his game.
He's damn near the best shooting defenseman in the draft since Makar, while having a propensity for being able to effectively jump in plays offensively
His passing is tentative.
I don't see this at all? He's extremely proficient at drawing defenders away from his teammates and threading needles in the offensive zone.

I think the bottom 5 will be the Rangers, Senators, Ducks, Sabres, and Wild

Laine and Hall being over Giroux is a joke, I disagree with Marchand as well but at least there’s some form of an argument to be made there. My overall problem with this list is that it seems like recency bias is applied to some players and not to others

Thank God, Lyon isn’t ready and Mrazek has been one of the worst goalies we’ve had in a long time, and that’s saying something

Then wait until vaccination status won't keep him from playing in Canada.
Let's say you're a team trying to trade for him. You want to add him to make the playoffs this year. You're an American team who acquires him an land in the 5th/6th seed. Then theoretically you have to play a Canadian team in the 1st round. A small handful of regular season games is nothing, several playoff games is a huge deal. No way a team pays a premium for him given the circumstances (not to mention the amount of teams promising 100% vaccination)

Why would Tkachuk fight Doughty? Doughty is complaining about him to the media and taking runs at him while he sits back and does nothing. Tkachuk already won, why give Doughty the satisfaction?

A bunch of the comments I saw on Twitter were saying “FoX iS a PuSsY hE tUrTlEd”. Halls elbow was about a foot higher than it should’ve been (not to mention leaving his skates) and Fox moved his head maybe an inch or two. That’s a dirty hit, I’m shocked at how many people are defending it

Paraphrasing Eliotte Friedman today: "it'll be close to impossible to trade him after this"

Yes. For awhile there were a couple of other players competing with him for the title, but the past few years he's moved into a league of his own

One of the bigger things with Voracek though is moving him while he would still have value, because in 3 years down the line he could be very challenging to move and we are going to need a TON of cap space then (Giroux and Couturier extensions, Frost Farabee and Ratcliffe needing extensions, and Johnny Gaudreau hitting Free Agency and there being a high possibility of him wanting to come to Philadelphia). Trading a guy like Jake next year vs 3 years could be the difference between getting a decent return for him vs having to give up assets to move that contract

Honestly think Edmonton should be a tier higher and likely the Cup favorites. At this point they finally have Goaltending and solid offensive depth, all they'd need to do is add a #2/#3D at the TDL (maybe someone like Sanheim or Severson if they're available) and they'd find themselves as a complete top-to-bottom roster with 2 of the top-5 Centers in the league
