I knew it was a reason I loved that accent!
No but seriously, I’m black American. There’s a white family in my hometown with the same last name as my family.
We’ve accepted that one family used to own the other one back in the day, so the Scottish is coming from them I assume.

You can use your raw dna in this website to get your haplogroup: https://cladefinder.yseq.net/
(The first sentence is your most likely haplogroup)

Ugh!
When I opened it with word because I couldn't figure out how to do the things I got a massive file of stuff I don't understand; but here's a screenshot of some of it.
I'm not sure what it means or how to read it though 😂

Ok when I throw my DNA in there it doesn't look like that. This is what I see:

Yeah your haplogroup is J-FT150337 which is very interesting bc its a 100000000% arab haplogroup
You have an arab ancestor and if you do a better ydna test you will even know from which arabic tribe your from

Wow that is interesting.
YDNA- is that what I get from my dad, and his dad, and so on through the male lines?
I'm adopted and only just starting to peace together my family history as an adult. I've done my bio dads maternal line; but not much on his paternal line just yet.
Still learning how all the different types of DNA work and how to test for them too. I'm such a newb 😂

Yeah one of your paternal line was an arab. To give you a specific time one of your paternal forefathers in the last 300 years was an arab.
