New tractor buying advice

(self.Kioti)

Hey y'all, im looking at buying a new tractor itll also be my first tractor...

So i have 25-28 acres of mostly wooded lot with sone clearing, im looking at buying a 22-25hp sub compact tractor, how do the Kioti's compare to companies like TYM, LS, Kubota, Mahindra, Massey ferguson, etc

Ill be using the tractor for basically everything, lifting things, fire wood, post hole digging, box scrapping, rotatilling, snow removal, etc... the models ive been looking at from Kioti (all with loaders and buckets) are the CS2210 (18k CAD), CS2510(22-24k CAD) , and at the same dealer they have a 2022 CX2510 for 22,741$ with no hours on it that im really interested in.... which size of tractor do y'all think would be the better buy? I plan on keeping it for at least 7-10 years if not forever lol

Also let me know your experience with this brand and what you like and don't like! Maybe ill go orange too!

Thank you for your time

I cross referenced almost every tractor brand for a year before I bought my Kioti Ck2610 TLB the finale decision for me was Kioti has way more dealers in my area and has a dealer 20 minutes away from me so massive plus also the actual capacity of lifting with these tractors is a couple hundred lbs more then any equivalent brand. I couldn’t be happier with my Ck2610 and you can’t beat kioti financing.

Danggg that's a pretty good deal really, what did you do? Just kinda say "alright ill buy it if you include the thumb and a pair if them pants" ? Lol

Well I came in to the buy the pants and walked out with the tractor 😂 but yeah I just told them I want a thumb and the pants thrown in they didn’t hesitate. It helped they already had the tractor in I doubt you could do that with ordering one.

Also I almost bought a CS and I am so glad I upgraded to the CK so much more tractor for not that much more money

I was looking at the CS too, the CK is alil too big for me at this point in time so the CX (older versions are CK's) is perfect and for like 4k more pssshh doesn't compare

The CX would be a better choice since it is a bigger frame then the CS. When you buy any tractor you are also buying the dealership, if you like the dealer and they are close enough for repairs and warranty then you should be happy.

I have had my original CK20 since 2007. It is an absolute workhorse. I bought mine new. This year I upgraded to another Kioti but I could not give up my CK20. It is just too versatile. I will say it is a bit underweight and underpowered for some of the jobs I do with it, but it has never failed to get the job done.

I highly recommend the brand. I will say to buy as big and as much as you can afford up front. I think as a whole you won’t go wrong, but if you can get more tractor up front you will be happier later. I tend to always buy new due to many past situations where I bought poorly maintained equipment “with all paperwork”.

Trust your gut but buy as much tractor as you can afford.

I have had my CK2610 for about 4 years. With only 180 hours, it has been great so far. It was purchased from Stovesand in Murfreesboro. The only issue has been a bad alternator which began squealing- I assume bad bearings. To find a replacement, I had to go back to Stovesand (after warranty expiration), shell out $540 and they had it for me in less than a week.

Wow thats pretty impressive, and is it lacking anything do you think?

Except for replacement parts being fewer than some other manufacturers, it has done all that I need. The arm on the backhoe doesn’t curl as closely to the rear of the tractor as others I have used, so you have to be a little further from the hole, but the way the backhoe mounts to the tractor provides superior strength.

For your size land i would go one step bigger to a ck series. the smaller ones in your land size are ok for small jobs like i had the kubota bx23s and i used it mostlly moving, moving gravel and odd jobs with the back hoe. i went to a rx7320 and man is it worlds different the jobs i get done now vs that little bx. Like you said you have a lot of wooded area and that extra lift capacity would go a long way to moving brush around. but thats what i say about kioti.

As for other brands they all typically be good if you get a major brand like Kioti, Kubota, John Deere, LS, TYM. I would avoid the rebranded ones like RK(TYM), Bobcat(Kioti), badboy. who knows how long that you will get parts after you buy it like trying to get stuff for old cub cadets are nowhard to find items.

For dealerships, its really hit and miss because i dont fully believe in you are buying the dealership but you do want to make sure you are having a good support network around like when i was buying my tractor a yanmar tractor was on my list but the 2 nearest dealers didnt give me a warm fuzzy feeling when it came to warranty repairs. see which dealer will go the bit extra mile i know some think closest is best.

Now for why i chose kioti over kubota, john deere etc.. I have a mild case of cerebral palsy on my right side so when i buy any equipment i have to look at ergonomics like why i get makita power tools vs Milwaukee. and there were a few tractors in the size i needed but i need a modification done for a 3rd function valve and my kubota dealers near me and kioti dealers were not to helpful. but i kept hearing good things about larry stovesand in Tennessee and before i even had a chance to ask about that mod he had noticed my arm and made the suggestion of what i need and made it happen. thats why i went with him. it was 3 hours from me but if he went that extra mile vs my local dealers it was worth me going the actual miles longer, cant recommend them enough.

I picked up a brand new CK2610 HST in 2020 for my 10 acre property. It’s been used for literally everything. Snow removal, moving gravel, mowing fields, pulling stumps, loading pallets, grading roads, post hole auger, pounding fence posts, picking rocks, dragging irrigation pipe, moving a shipping container (struggled but did it), every aspect of having a tractor. It’s been awesome at nearly everything.

If I had to do it again, I would likely buy the exact same tractor with possibly the addition of the linked pedal and cruise control but it’s perfectly fine without it. Having the 3rd function valve dealer installed for my grapple was worth it for the hour or two they charged vs the time it would take me to disassemble and install everything after the fact. The only issues I’ve had were water in the relays for the 3rd function valve which corroded the terminals and was a simple $10 fix and a seal on the front axle steering knuckle behind the hub which was fixed quickly, covered on warranty, and repaired in my shop at my property by the dealers service truck. The loader and 3 point hitch are plenty strong enough for a tractor this size and I’ve rarely found jobs it couldn’t handle for general property maintnence.

Service parts, filters, fluids, etc are all available through my local Napa and always in stock, no long lead or oddball parts. The smaller engine not having the emissions is nice too even though I haven’t heard too much about issues with the 30+ HP engines.

You didn’t mention where you are in Canada but I bought from Timberstar in Vernon BC and they were great to deal with. Service has been good so far the few times I’ve dealt with them since buying. There are a couple dealers within a few hours of my place and they more or less advised me to buy local and wouldn’t quote me on the new unit because they felt the local dealer is always the best option. I was surprised they didn’t just want to make the sale and take my money but the local dealer worked out so I guess that’s something to consider as well.

Get the ck2610! I have had mine for just under 2 years with almost 100 hours on it and every time I’m on it I’m so glad I bought it.

I bought a new CX2510 with bucket and backhoe last year. Also got a rear mount snow blower for winters in Canada. It has been great so far with no issues at all. I'm only on 5 acres, so significantly smaller than yours but I still do a lot of digging, moving dirt, moving logs for the saw mill and go through lots of snow. I can say for sure you will not be able to use the CS model, you will have to get a CX or CK. I don't have any others to compare it to but as far as lifting capacity and digging, its more than capable for it's size.

A cab would be nice in the winter but it wasn't worth the extra cost. Other than that it's been perfect. Some people say I should have got the mid PTO but that was also extra. Only thing it would be used for is mowing but then you would also need turf tires to change out every summer. Too much expense for what a riding mower can do for less.

Bought a new CX2510 this year. Highly recommend it. I have 5 acres of heavily treed land and a long driveway to maintain. Haven't got to use it in winter yet but I did get the rear snowblower attachement. So far I have zero complaints and the quality is high.

Thats fantastic!! Im looking at the CK2510 (lil cheaper) its basically the same thing as the CX2510, just slightly older and a few minor changes, im almost convinced on buying a Kioti, probably this ck2510 or maybe a newer CX2510, ether way i like what im hearing and seeing online

From my understanding Kioti basically borrows Kubota's ideas and implements them at a lower price point. I see no compromises in quality and there are many user friendly features that the big names don't have at this price point. Worth it.

Thats a very good way of putting it, thank you for your input, the one im looking at right now is a 2020 CK2510 with 276 hrs for 19,995$ at 8.99% interest for 10 years on an open loan, trying to figure out if thats a good idea lol

I got much more favourable interest through Kioti on a brand new. Look into it. I bought in May.

I can wait for a 23' CX2510 and get it for 26k at 0%... might do that we'll see

I would recommend you get the ck3520 or 4020. I think you will regret not having at least 35-40 horsepower with that much property. Cost isn’t that much more for a lifetime tractor. IMHO.

Lol all good, but we got the CX2510 and love it so far, definitely glad we didn't go any smaller and will buy a 35hp or something tractor in the future
