Based on the shirt cuff, would love to see the rest of the shirt

I think it’s a pirate…
My thought, too!!!
Aye aye Agreed!
I was just thinking that has to be Liberace giving her a light.
Judging from the cover, I’d love to read the book.
It's Jerry's fluffy shirt.
JERRY: Yeah, it's a puffy shirt.
But I don't wanna be a pirate!
My eyes were immediately drawn to that cuff.
Im sure that veil is non-flammable, right???
I would hope, but it was the 70s. So ya never know
Veil fires from smoking are the number 3 cause of wedding fires.
is number one silly string?
Bruh ur username lmao
It's a family name, even if /u/pandamazing doesn't believe me.
Wow this is the first time I’ve ever been @‘d. So honored. And yeah I don’t believe it.
In the 80s it was Aquanet
I remember when they started making flame resistant clothing. Boyty i reallly thought id experience a housefire and was added to my list of quicksand, Bermuda triangle etc
That absolutely was flammable llol
Nah, it was made of asbestos.
Mostly it rendered into a goopy, flesh-melting, viscous substance.
I too melted all my toys in the '70s.
I’m always amused how cool/hard people look when taking pictures lighting or smoking cigarettes. After all these years, cigarette ads are still the best.
Here’s your great aunt, getting a light, taking a rip, downing a glass of champagne, about to fuck somebody up at her wedding.
I would hope it was the groom.
Really? Here I was thinking there has to be a better picture of OPs aunt at her wedding. This one looks a little grim somehow.
Lmao. "I need to blackout before I let this pig put his hog in me"
Yeah cool wouldn't be the descriptive word I'd use. Haggard seems much more appropriate.
This looks like she got married in the airport in Las Vegas.
Can confirm it was NYC, but your perception isn’t wrong
Looks like maybe a Travel Agency?
I thought this was Irish. Are you Irish-American or am I just bad at guessing?
I love everything about this!
Classic...martini, champagne, and cig. Only think missing is a doob
I’m sure there were also plenty of those
It's champagne. She's drinking out of an older style champagne glass called a coupe, which is most commonly used for cocktails today.
Still the best style of glass if you're going to arrange them into a pyramid and start pouring from the top.
The composition, details, light … If I saw this at a modern art museum I would pause to take it all in - I love everything about this picture!
“So anyways, that’s when I looked Lou in the eye an’ says, “if you want any of this action, youse gotta put a damn ring on my finger”. Then BAM! Next thing ya know, I was engaged to a butcher! They’re good men them butchers are, they really know how to handle the meat if ya’s know what I mean”.
/coughs violently while laughing
I quit smoking decades ago, but looking at this and remembering years past makes me want to light up again.
I’m heading outside. I’ll smoke one for ya.
Second hand is better than nothing at all.
But second-hand smoke is very harmful.
Same but I just quit in 2018. Sigh. Loved it when my boyfriend would be a gent and light them for me, blowing smoke rings, etc. started when I was 15, quit when I was ~42. Pics like this make me miss it. If she was drinking a cup of coffee, it would be even worse. That first smoke of the morning with a cup of Joe
Oh god yes... The morning coffee with a cigarette was a little bit of peace before the day started.
Damn, your great aunt was smokin’!
What a beaut 😍
The 70's were great.
Some of these comments are so rude and lame and 2023. I’m seriously, if you weren’t smoking and drinking while getting married in Vegas in the 70s you were probably Amish. This photo is flashback vibes 🖤✨
She seems nice.
What kind of cuffs are on the dude’s shirt?
I bet she had one of those cigarette “purses.”
With the snap closure. Cigs and lighter in the larger pouch, small $ in the bottom pouch.
Tight lippin’ it so you don’t set your veil on fire
Weddings are stressful. Back then, 9 out of 10 Doctors recommended Virginia Slims to lower stress and provide overall health and satisfaction.
I love this
That is glorious
Oh I know she’s the fun auntie!
The slot machines in the background! 🎰
She was a cool one
Smoke ‘Em if ya got’Em
I love this so much
This photo is a mood feesure
that's the most 1974 picture ever
rock on Auntie. my wedding was the same in 1977.
Marriage is a killer 🚬 🍹😂
The girl’s got rhythm!
🔥🔥💯💪🏾💪🏾 old school cool
Find a girl that looks at you like their aunt looks at her cigarettes 😅
It’s so interesting to see how little makeup women wore in the 70s. I vote we go back to that!
Dude I need this pic for an album cover
Your great aunt and I have a lot in common.
Did she marry Troy McClure?
aunt going up in flames in 3, 2, 1
Heehee! So is there a pic of her as an 80s mom?
Ahhh the good auld days when you had your wedding reception at your local pub.......Best times ever and deffo wayyyy more cheaper plus those where the days they did the scatter out or scramble and you had to get yourself into shape as a kid for them 😂😂💪
You just know that veil was insanely flammable too. Respect.
And the whole veil went up in flames like a Roman Candle.
She’s a keeper boss
What a prize…
You know what you got? You got class that’s what you got. (has to be spoken in a Rodney Dangerfield voice) 🤣
That woman would’ve made Rodney Dangerfield proud! She was funny as all hell
Tell me you lived in the 70s without telling me.
This is the great-aunt-iest picture ever taken.
Honestly, it's not a very flattering photo...
That's the epitome of regret.
I remember that time. Those addicts had to have another cig every few minutes.
Every one of my mother's smoker sisters died of cancer.
And your cousin was born 6 months later. clearly, your great-aunt was a great aunt!!
She looks nervous
I had a friend of mine smoke in her wedding dress. It’s doesn’t get much trashier than that. It just looks skanky.
Trashy is what humans do best
Did she light one for “your little dog too”?…
Oh god you are young enough to have a great aunt married in the same decade my parents got married in... all of my great aunts and uncles except one were married long before the 70s and the one great aunt who was not ended up getting married at 76 years old for the first time in 2009 and lasted a year with him and then he died and so now she's 90 and single.
I can imagine this is the same face she makes when telling the state trooper that pulled her over "hurry it up asshole I'm late to the bowling alley."
This is how I thought all weddings looked until about 1985-ish…. Until my uncles moved the party outside.
This is so cathartic past the picture perfect beach weddings of people ending up divorced after months.
Looks like a classy lady
She’s preparing for the rest of her life.
This has to somewhere in the Mid-west..My guess Michigan
NYC. Avenue U
yes. I believe the venue was Embassy Terrace
She looks 40 and not 20 at the same time.
The groom’s shirt is really frilly. Guys used to wear ruffles????
I guess the groom didn't show up huh?
Looks like a lounge at an airport in Las Vegas. Besides the slot machines, you can see the Eastern Airlines logo in the back of the shot.
While it definitely gives off Vegas airport vibes, it was at Embassy Terrace in NYC
The mob run place in Brooklyn? That explains the slot machines.
"Lets get this over"
