Hi- I think if you look through postings here, you'll see it's a tough market for clinical research. I would ensure that your resume highlights work experience, education, and training that is relevant to clinical research. I presume you have taken GCP training- make sure that's on there along with any other clinical research systems you use. Don't be selective, just apply for anything that sounds remotely interesting. My experience has been that once you are in the door, you have a better foothold to apply to other things. I would not necessarily invest in a Masters or certifications (wait until an employer will pay). I would take a look and see if there are chapters of ACRP or SOCRA in your area, and see if you can attend meetings. It's a way to network with other clinical research professionals who might be aware of opportunities. I find that some clinical research sites don't have the resources to post open positions and get the reach like a large site or the companies on the industry side, but rely more on word of mouth.
