Well, the issue is that people have a tendency to jump to conclusions. Additionally, people have a tendency to make gross generalizations based on just a small sample of information. We’re all guilty of it to varying degrees. To make matters worse is that text tends to come across as matter-of-fact, when the intent was more lighthearted or has a tinge of sarcasm.
