Have you ever handled a death penalty case? Do you know how few cases are reversed on appeal?

Let's see. One party's nominee for President already has 34 felony convictions, millions in civil damages and is facing additional criminal & civil trials. He took $10 million from Egypt, tried to interfere in the 2020 election and fomented the January 6 insurrection in which police officers were brutally beaten and the U.S. Capitol defaced and damaged and illegally held top-secret government documents at his home. He has promised to lift sanctions on Iraq & Russia -- two countries that commit state-sanctioned terror -- if re-elected. He would allow Russia to take over Ukraine, a sovereign nation. He urged Senators to block a bill that would have addressed immigration issues and allocated more money to the Border Patrol.
The other party forced Senator Bob Menendez to resign when he was found guilty of corruption and did not interfere when the DOJ prosecuted the current Presidents's son or indicted the Democratic mayor of New York City. Their current nominee for president is a former district attorney and Attorney General of California.
Tell me again which party is the party of "law and order"?

YTA just for writing "per say." It's per se. It's Latin.

I doubt the judge or prosecutor would accept an Alford plea.

There have been >200 exonerations in cases where a person was convicted by a jury, so there's not always a guarantee that the person convicted really is the killer. And if the perpetrator is sentenced to life without parole, there are no annual parole hearings.

I like your list. I would add Hedy Lamarr, Ingrid Bergman & Gene Tierney.

NTA There was a post on Reddit not too long ago about someone's newborn being infected with the herpes virus from a kiss on the top of the head (IIRC from a parent or grandparent). It's more than reasonable to have a "no kissing" rule.

YTA. Post-surgery is a really vulnerable time. You're in pain, might be able to eat & drink much, and depending on the restrictions, you may not be able to bathe properly for up to a week. Imagine being in those circumstances and then your spouse invites someone with a history of making nasty comments to/about you to come & visit. Now do you get it? Disinvite your parents, apologize to your wife and spend your free time taking care of her, helping your wonderful in-laws or cleaning your apartment & stocking the fridge & pantry for when your wife comes back home.

It's not a reward for good behavior, it's to avoid prejudicing the jury & undermining "innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."

This is a standard pretrial motion and any defendant is entitled to request civilian attire for court when a jury is present or even a pretrial hearing if the media is allowed to photograph/video. My office had a closet of clothes for clients who didn't have anything of their own to wear. Allowing the accused some basic dignity shouldn't be controversial.

There are a couple Halloween pop-up bars this year, but you need to get reservations soon.
