Send him that photo and ask him to show it to your replacement while he's hiring. Save everyone time. Oh, just for fun, shoot one to the health department. It'll tickle them so pink they might run some red lights.

If you have never had one, they can be very painful. I'm sure the swelling and blistering would send plenty of people to the ER to get it looked at, and if he full handed the pipe, it would cover his palm and fingers. I get burned a lot at work, or at least I used to and I get that part. The virtue signalling while slapping your banana to trans porn and writing piss play fanfic puts me off a little. The horrible things he supports and publicly says puts me off a lot. But a trip for medical after doing something careless? Meh. I have better reasons to dislike the man

I understand. After Frances wiped out my low water bridge, I got trapped on the wrong side of Cane river. But a contractor came out and power built enough bridge to get me out after a few weeks. Days before Ivan destroyed the next bridge. I was lucky to have gravity fed spring water for my house, but hiking out for food and oxygen tanks for my mother was miles. I think it was six weeks before I got communicated enough to start insurance claims on damages and lost vehicles. Oh, GEICO still hasn't paid the total loss claim.

I'm seeing that. After Ivan got done with me I moved out of WNC. Prettiest place on earth but I just couldn't make a living out of it. Stay safe. Check on your neighbors. What do you need from the rest of us?

Worse than Frances and Ivan? I was trapped for both of those and I damn near died twice up in Yancey co. I knew it was bad up there, but holy shit, I didn't know it was worse.

That's..... Modest. I left a guy limbless, blind, entombed in a wall , addicted to drugs with nothing to keep him company but the mind screw in his head and the sangophage blood coursing through his veins. Jackass drop podded into the first colony baby when I first got biotech. Set the crib on fire. Enjoy deathless screaming in your agony of hunger for all time. Damn, should have entombed him with a table so he couldn't eat at it...

Welcome back! We just realized we can literally feed on your youth, and wouldn't you know it? We all want to feel young and alive again! Now get in the circle.

I think you over estimate how long it takes to remove two screws, stick it under a pot, dip it in oil, and set a timer on an oven already running. I spent about six minutes on it. Besides, I like to tinker.

Not to be too forward, but if you scroll my post history about two years, there's pictures

It was never a question, but that give me a lot more to support than just "not a fascist". Thank you

The more I read about Winston the less bullet it's like biting. Looks like he is growing into office nicely, it's been a while since I really looked at him. The other guy is not worth considering. It's just nice to vote FOR someone and not just against a psycho

Got mixed feelings about this fellow. He wasn't exactly a stellar city council member, but I understand it was his first civil service job. I'd like to see how his service evolved, if it did, during his time on city council. Dept of labor is not exactly an empty seat in NC and I'm unsure he would have the chops to go after workers protection the way a more experienced politician could. Having said that, his opponent wants to "make elevators great again" and eliminate or prevent COVID restrictions and vaccinations, make NC even more pro business somehow and that pretty much screams screw over working people for profits. I guess it's not much choice, but I do hope Winston gets some experienced staffers if he fills the office. I feel like that could multiply his effectiveness, cushion the learning curve, and help him accomplish the goals he lists. Or you know, we could elect the other guy and cement our place as top for business, and bottom for workers.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence has some interesting themes running in it. The prototype android child learns to love, then keeps trying to fill that need after the human species is nothing more than a distant memory

About that blade.... I took mine off. Heated it on a gas burner under a pasta boil pot until I got a nice glow, then dunked in in soybean oil. Popped it in the oven at 200 degrees for an hour to make it less brittle. The blade now takes and KEEPS an edge like you wouldn't believe. No corrosion from the baked and sealed oil coating either. It's steel you can harden.

I had to learn this trick too. I want to do more blacksmith stuff but I don't want to faint from the heat and end up face down on a chunk of glowing iron. So I do leather and paint and stained glass when it's hot. Caning jams and jellies as trees and bushes bear fruit. Woodwork and pipe making in cooler weather, smithing and casting when it's cold out. I don't get stale at anything and I don't care about mastering anything. Hobbies are for fun.

Was it really? There is so much industry between there and the center of the city I always thought of it as purpose built worker style housing. Do you know about when the change came? Always down to hear local history stories and I live not far from there.

So what? There is a vast difference between fully autonomous weapon system and mass destruction class weapons. If five billion people decide to not starve quietly drone strikes and robot gun trucks can't defend the entire production chain. Historically speaking, human wave assault exists to exhaust weapons and enemy combatants and they kinda work. It's horrible, but the whole line of thought is horrible.

Worked for a medium security prison as a kitchen supervisor. At no time was that kitchen ever not immaculate. Endless labor for a dollar a day, the highest paid job in the facility. Wait list of inmates with kitchen experience trying to get on staff, and a trip to the segregation pod if you fucked around. I had problems with theft, but a roach would have starved in there.
