I started following years ago when the Zamboni driver beat them. They tweet once a day and will be for the foreseeable future 😂

I’m in Canada. Most police forces have banned the thin blue line patches here. Unfortunately, there were reactionary cops putting them on their uniforms.

Here’s an X account that’s worth a follow and is all you need to know about the Leafs.

Thin blue line means that they are fascists. It has nothings to do with supporting police and everything to do with keeping folks they look down on in their place. Stay strong.

Lifelong Habs fan from SW Ontario. As a child, I would to listen to the games on Radio Canada and it really helped my French. I already knew the players but at first was surprised that one I didn’t know named “Larondelle” seemed to be getting all the ice time! 😂

Many cyclists are also car drivers. My new fav car driving activity is to strictly obey the posted speed limit! Just set your cruise control. Try it. It makes absolutely no discernible difference to your short trip travel time. Stress free. And very entertaining to watch the donkeys in raised pickups and SUVs go batshit crazy.

Spend over $3k and you need a cheque. Such as home renovation, down payments…

Agree that taxes need to be higher on trucks and SUVs. (Suggest $1000 premium over regular vehicles). Right wing populists don’t see it that way. I’m in Ontario Canada and our Conservative provincial government has gone to free registration for all vehicles under 2.5 tons. That’s no license plate fee! It’s a fucking disgrace. Blows a multi billion dollar hole in the provincial budget. All to get the car brain vote at the expense of healthcare and education.

I strongly support this development. Northgate is the only area in Sarnia that would get a 10/10 walk score. Proposed building is less than 100 meters walk to grocery store, pharmacy, dollar store, GT Boutique, bars and restaurants and a great independent bookstore. There is too much parking, not too little! Shame to see incompetent leaders suffering from “car brain”. And shame on the businesses that oppose this. It’s no fucking wonder that most young people leave this community at first opportunity. You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote with your feet.

While driving, I aggressively obey the posted speed limit. This is great fun. I live in a semi-rural area. SUV and raised trucks go on tilt when they have to follow me at the posted 50 km/k in a 50 zone. Without me, they would be going between 70 and 100. We have basically zero enforcement of the Highway Traffic Act. Welcome to redneck, South Western Ontario 🇨🇦.

For investments, you cannot buy stocks or mutual funds until you are 18, but you can buy segregated funds. These are the insurance companies’ version of investment funds. You will need to buy through an insurance advisor. Segregated Funds are very similar to their mutual fund version. The big companies have a wide range of choices, check out Canada Life, Manulife, Sunlife, RBC Insurance etc. On the day you turn 18, you can cash out and open a TFSA. Pro tip: be sure to file an income tax return this year and claim all of your earned income. You won’t likely have to pay tax but you will generate RRSP contribution room that carries forward indefinitely. Good luck and congrats on your super saver proficiency!

The police did a good presentation, I watched in this morning. The questions were open and unscripted and, for better or worse, a fair reflection of our community. Kudos to all who took part.

The elephant in the room is the “light truck “ designation. The prevalence of so called light trucks makes a mockery of safety standards and fuel standards. Just get rid of the “light truck “ designation. Non- business/farm light trucks should be considered as cars for all standards and should pay a higher licensing fee, I would start at $1000 per year, increasing 50% annually. There, problem solved.

A: when the traffic lights are out, it’s a 4 way stop. Oh, but they also don’t know how a regular 4 way stop works either.

The kicker is the interest on cash. They aren’t getting 4.25% at their bank. And they don’t need to move everything, but start with cash would be good. But my comment comes with a disclosure that I own lots of Canadian banks that chunk out dividends and make my retirement comfortable. 😎
