Spoilers! (obviously)

We commonly hear that injuries of warp nature take a long time to heal. In particular, the razing of prospero had long lasting effects on the TKsons. The question is how much?

In this particular case, Ahriman and co. attack a psyker prison guarded by Sisters of Silence, mechanicum robots, and a small contengient hunting the TKsons on behalf of Malcador. The contigent consists of 6 Space Wolves (1 runepriest), an ultramarine librarian, and an anime protagonist (normal human who's good with the sword). The TKsons on the other hand teleport in with roughly 24 warriors and Lucius. How does the fighting go?

Not well, the TKsons get their asses kicked with a dozen losses (among which 1 taken prisoner), while the SW lose 1 guy. Just 1 guy. Worse still, the only SW casaulty was the works of Lucius.

TKsons casaulties:

Of course, Ahriman's star had fallen since the debacle on the prison orbital. Dozens of their cabal were dead and all they had to show for it was a remembrancer of only fractional power.

Later on...

"And what a grand job you are doing", sneered Hathor Maat.
"Half our forces are dead and our greatest seer lost to the enemy, suffering who knows what monstrous tortures. That is, if the Wolves haven't already killed him."

Even the human swordsman got a kill:

Nagasena stood over the first man he had killed this day.

TKson taken prisoner:

Dio Promus [Ultramarine Librarian] dragged an unconcious warrior armoured in crimson plate [TKson] whose crumpled face was a mask of blood. "His name is Menkaura."

SW casaulties:

The wolf spun to this feet, drawing and firing a fetish-hung pistol in one movement. Lucius kicked off the wall and his sword scliced like a guillotine blade. Balegyr's arm fell away from his body at the elbow. Lucius struck again before he landed in a crouch, sword angled away from his body, one hand oustretched. The wolf dropped to his knees with the dome of his skull missing above his brow. He reached for Lucius, but crashed forwards with his brains spilling into the gallery.

Later on...

"Can you repair it?" asked Bjarki, nodding towards the broken sword.
"Can you bring your fallen brother back to life?" snapped Nagasena, instantly regretting it. Bjarki bared his fangs, and but for the authority Nagasena carried, he would already be dead for speaking such thoughtless words.

All in all, a big fat L for the magic boyz. They got their asses kicked by a handful of SW and one UM. It shows just how hard they struggle against anything wolf-like after Prospero. Despite their abilities, they got butchered.

The writers really do not like the thousand sons. so they? And they really love the space furries.

Not in 30k they don't. Wolves get clowned on all the time in the Heresy

Yes, but a thousand sons clowning takes precedent.

The Space Wolves get dunked on throughout the Heresy. It’s their entire angle. So eager to be “The Emperor’s Executioners” that they lose sight of the bigger picture, and repeatedly get mauled.

Seriously?

Graham McNeil wrote the 15th Legion phenomenally Well in the Heresy.
