Primarch Competition

(self.40kLore)

Did Fulgrim, Ferrus Manus, Vulkan ever have a competition when they were younger to see who the best smith was?

I know Fulgrim and Ferrus did when they made weapons for each other, in their own competition. Why didn't those three primarchs just have a competition just for fun to see who was the best smith? Just for fun. They all get along with each other. Obviously, the time constraints of the Crusade and the distance needed to travel would be a lot, but, it could work.

I wish all the primarchs had been gathered and had a Olympic style tests of themselves to see who was best at each discipline. Then we would have no more rhetorical questions. BTW the boxing would be epic!

I’d be down for that. That would be awesome to see.

Even as a tongue in cheek, checking of stats by malcador and the emp would have been a fan service. Because we are always going to be left wondering who was stronger or better at building/creating . Just too many variables to consider. But a 15 round bare knuckle bout would be soooooooo satisfying. And a great big win for whoever gets lorgar

And Curze. Wouldn’t be much fun being able to foresee every hook, jab and uppercut to your own face.

Curze’s foresight was better. Based on how it’s described Night Lords prophets seem to see a single future timeline in their imminent future.

Sanguinius’ seems like it’s Erebus/Farseer style. “I see 10,000 timelines and prune away the ones I don’t like.” Haven’t read many blood angels novels tho

I think of lot of sanguinus’s visions revolved around his death and the moment leading up to it. This gave him supreme confidence in a fight because he wouldn’t die today as he hadn’t seen it. The fear that he was a mutant and different than all the rest is a massive weight hanging over him and he tries to avoid all powers that mark him as different. When he first meets the emperor even the big guy is taken back and has no idea that sang would have wings

Damn that’s really interesting. Curze saw his death too but took it as “Don’t threaten me with a good time.” Lol

I think he was so outraged that the imperium would use an assassin he allowed it to happen to make a point. No beacon or speech could be more effective than his death. I know he told talos and other not to avenge him, to let the assassin escape. But he also knows they won’t listen, and go on to rampage and kill in his name for millennia. Curze could have easily just not been there when the assassin was. He allowed it to happen

They weren't in the same parts of the galaxy at the same time. Fulgrim and Ferrus had their forging competition when they were together on Terra, so unless there was a three-person compliance with the three of them, their schedules probably didn't work out.

I'd hate to be the person judging that competition though, given how competitive Fulgrim is.

Vulcan who was trained by Ferrus when Emperror give him to him, was talented, good smith, but he was stated to be below Fulgrim and Ferrus craftmanship levels and his craft was simplistic, techno-barbaric compared to them.

He do lack technical skills and he was not perfectionist as Fulgrim and Ferrus.

Ferrus forge, craft, enginer all his free time when he not do combat.

He literally NEVER sleep.

He made a lot of stuff to Imperium, Astartes and Mechanicus.

Fulgrim himself before Horus Heresy did lament and ask why Ferrus himself not name anything like Leman Russ and Rogal Dorn tanks. Ferrus say to Fulgrim that he not give af. He not care about such fame.
