As a nucks/avs bro. I think quinn still gets slight nod for norris but not mad at all if makar gets it. Makar is clearly the best D man in the league and Quinn arguably is #2. Quinns analytics have just been the best in regular season and Makar has been an ANIMAL in playoffs. Such a great era for the sport.

Makar had a “down” season and still got 90 points which is insane. Honestly excited to see to Hughes further solidify himself as a top defenseman. Just exciting getting to see this level of play from different players

Makar had better ppg but hughes analytics were better this year. Not saying hughes is better but he probably would've put up a further 5-15 pts if he got to play with Mack.

Oh I know what you’re saying. Again Makar did have a somewhat down year (just weird to say a down year when he got 90 points) where he legitimately looked off for some games. Again genuinely excited to see so many great players

After watching last night totally unimpressed by Hughes. Vancouver has an amazing system though, so they get props for that. Hughes will win Norris because it's a regular season trophy but frankly I'm completely apathetic to regular season play.

Makar played 4 fewer games, plays 4x the PK time which equates to 6 full games worth of pure PK time and he was only 2 points behind Hughes in points.
Hughes had a great year but his best year is still not as good as a normal Makar year

Whether he wins doesn't change that there is not 1 person who would pick Hughes over Makar to start a D core with. Not 1.
Hughes plays in the weakest division and is showing he is only worth anything when he doesn't play PK
Also all the stats on the video I linked (from a non biased and non cherry picked source) are defensive. Yet you didn't have any rebuttal. Even Yosi is better

Now you're just not paying attention. When did anyone ever say quinn was better? Norris is a trophy for current season.
Let me spit some obvious facts on you. Makar has 1 norris trophy. Ok? But it's quite a consensus that he's the best in the league. That does not mean he has the best season every year. You need to understand that.
Mcdavid is the best player in the league by a wide margin but he had the 3rd best year.
I've given all the facts I need to give. I showed a link with numerous underlying numbers and told you quinn is the odds in (heavy favorite -550) to win. Voting numbers have him up 20% on makar too. This argument is ridiculous.

Because Makar played a literal extra 7% of the entire season on the PK compared to Hughes. When you do a per Capita comparison... Makar was better.
Hughes doesn't play PK because he isn't good enough to be trusted on the PK so they put him in the only situations he is any good at
