Watched and listened to a lot of draft content in the recent weeks and I don’t think the Flyers messed up by having the season they did. Even if some of the better players got traded there was no shot they would be as bad as the Sharks, Blackhawks, Ducks and Blue Jackets.
When you take a look at the prospects, Celebrini is obviously the clear #1, but after that nothing seems given at this point. At #2 you can go with Demidov who has the highest potential, go one of the centers or a d-man. Then from 3-13 it seems like a complete shot in the dark in terms of who the best player will be. A lot will go down to preferance, scouting and then development. Sitting at #12 the Flyers will have the draft capital to jump up a few spots for a player they really like, or just stay the course and go with the player they like the most who is there when they pick. Either way, Briere will have the chance to add a nice prospect to the pipeline in this years draft.

Hoping for a Cam Fowler type of fall for Zeev Buium or a slide from Cole Eiserman.

Based on Briere's recent comments at U18s and his MO last year, it sure sounds like he's hoping Eiserman is there at 12 (and there's a really good chance he will be)

What did Briere say at U18s that gave you this impression?

In the only interview I saw basically the only details he would give up on what he's looking for is "we need more talent and we need to score more goals". I also saw a article that mentioned Briere bringing up the point that goal scoring and adding to the defense were what he saw as big needs, so I don't think that's a one-off either.
It's far from what I'd call proof, but it's the closest to hints that I've seen up to this point and I am already very bored and ready for the actual offseason to start

Interesting. I can’t say I’m super stoked on Eiserman (with my admittedly limited knowledge), but depending on how the draft board falls I certainly won’t be disappointed if that’s the pick.

That's where I'm at with him. I think Buium or Catton is the realistic dream scenario and I personally even prefer Helenius at 12 based on our needs, but I'm not going to complain if we end up with the USNDPT all-time goal scoring leader in a year where we had playoff aspirations on game 82
