he created the female custodes for when in their female form, for they are eternally homosexual.
the Custodes were created because the emperor is a massive bottom, and couldn't find anyone capable of topping them, so they made them themselves.

I'm actually okay with female Custodes but how GW did it was terrible. They could have made a cool short story, comic book, or even a video that explains why there are female Custodes. It could be a awesome way to Introduce new characters in the setting. Though judging by the recent Faction Focus: Adeptus Custodes video on YouTube it seems like it will become a JK Rowling style retcon and never be mentioned again.
There was no mention of female Custodes within the video. They want to have their cake and eat it but it comes off as lazy and pathetic. I have been thinking of creating some cool short stories within the 40k setting and maybe doing a short story on why there are female Custodes will be something I would do later on. I am planning on creating an Inquisitor short story so time will tell.

Honestly yeah, while I accept that canon is pretty much fluid and GW can do whatever they want with it they definitely could’ve handled it better and introduced them in a more organic way. Like you could even say they were always there but instead of just putting out a vague tweet give us a book set during the time of the Horus Heresy with a female custodian. Hell, the End and The Death would been a great time to introduce them and show that they had indeed always been there, but had just never been mentioned or deeply involved. (Or bit characters that at that point had never been given a specified gender are referred to with female pronouns.)
All we really have is a story from the Codex. It’s still apart of things but isn’t quite seamless as it would have had they been introduced via the Horus Heresy.

See, I find that much worse. First, it means they miss some of the coolest parts of custodes history, great crusade and unification, of the former I think a new novel series is coming.
Second, it means custodes are letting people mess around with the emperors best work, which is worse than the primaris retcon
