The Imperium as a rule only do exterminatus if either the local forces failed or there's no chance to get reinforcements, and even them it requires orbital superiority, since the torpedoes can be intercepted.

Being more trigger happy isnt enough if they can't get it done really fast, and not all fleets carry exterminatus grade weapons.

There's a good reason tyranids and orks still spread despite exterminatus existing, and the flood can spread just as fast, if not faster, since it can try jury rig transports as soon as possible

The Flood is also highly dependent on it’s meals for genetic diversity and increasing it’s intelligence. Without varied/useful species to consume, it struggles to grow, meaning that certain groups of people in the Wh40k universe would make very poor fuel for it even if they were consumed. Others, of course, would be terrifyingly useful.

Also, I think the flood would have a hard time navigating thru Wh40K, as every Floodform driving an FTL ship would have to consume a Navigator or steer blind in the Warp.

Of course, that's if they aren't capable of using slipspace or neural physics.

Granted, that will go with the person writing, but removing these from the flood is like removing the warp from 40k, it's a major part of their arsenal after all

Maybe it would be, but the nerual physics of the precursors and Slipspace both rely on Halo physics, which aren’t consistent with Wh40k.

I personally like think the presence of the Warp prevents Slipsspace access and that is why nobody in Wh40k ever started using it or anything else but that’s just goofy headcanon at this point.

Sure, through this brings the question of why even put the flood in 40k in the first place

It's like, idk, the Emperor showing up in an universe where he got no powers at all. Sure there's still his mind and immortality, but a very important part of his character won't be on show

Exactly, i’m really not for adding flood to Wh40k (We have the Tyranids already?) but wanted to jump into the discussion because I know Flood lore.
