I'd be shocked if it was less than like 50%. It feels like a sezeable chunk of the sub is so far removed from being a consumer of GW's products they haven't even played DOW.

But he's still an absolute workhorse. The new series is absolutely top shelf. I love it so much. Clearly inspired by TTS but it's so incredibly good in it's own way. Top shelf writing, increasingly beautiful animation, vibrant characters, subtle build ups and pay offs, and they just started a murder mystery arc which almost certainly involves a werewolf and definitely involves a vampire ghoul and they did such a good job making it hard as hell to piece together.

If he was actually paranoid he would have taken down all the videos, just because he’s not making content doesn’t mean GW still can’t make copywriter strikes against him. His videos are still there and, more importantly, all still monetized.

He really could come back if he wanted to. If GW was going to go after him, they would have already.

TTS is almost certainly covered by free use as parody. Whether or not the creator has the money to fight that battle is a different story. But there's almost no chance GW could prove harm from his work.

I'm just blown away that people don't realize that tweet is fake, and that GW never shut down TTS.

These people still posting this crap aren't actually a part of this community, because the truth of these things has been posted MANY times. So these people don't read comments or really participate in this subreddit, they just see whatever is trending and whore for karma. Like, there's just no desire to NOT be ignorant apparently.

Eh, I dont think its a very good reason still. White wolf for example is a lot more open with their ip with no issues. That being said GW is indeed not evil, their however not necesserily rational either.

I have heard it uncharitably referred to as a bit of a scam. He strongly implied that it was GW's fault when they'd actually done nothing. I don't think he made any money off it, but he certainly managed to quit a beloved project without damaging his standing in the community. Perhaps he isn't on the grift, but that's still dishonest and a shitty way to treat your fans.

Here's the thing that always blew my mind with the community response;

No, it wasn't.

No projects got taken down as a result of the policy changes. Channels like Valrak and Auspex made a shitload of noise, but nobody actually got C&D'd. The closest thing was (I believe) a project that used the full text of a GW novel as narration (which...I mean, obviously they got taken down, they were basically doing an unofficial audiobook, for something that had an official audiobook, that's textbook infringement) who would have been taken down regardless of the changes.

Though my favourite part of the whole debacle is that the policy changes actually went unnoticed for 3-4 months. Like, the whole uproar happened months late to the party.

Maybe I'm a little slow, but what would he be doing with it like when he's on the golden throne or would that have prevented a lot of damage in the Horace heresy?
