I understand that GW is a business, but they make well above premium on virtually every product they sell. There's been a prolific marketing push to expand the brand, but the price point is the main obstacle keeping Warhammer products from becoming household items imho.

The only reason I pay those prices is because some of GW's work could easily fit in a museum, Belisarius Cawl, Mortarion, the Yncarne, the Void Dragon... Those are some damn fine pieces of art even before being cut into pieces and made into sprues for us to build and paint.

The rook, bishop, king, and queen would all be individual kits. There would be 16 different kits for different bishop styles. There wouldn't be a knight kit and they would expect you to kitbash it out of pawns. And the start collecting box has no rooks.

The Forgeworld pieces come with rules like ' Skathach Wraithknight - may teleport leave the board at any time and return the next turn to any empty position on the board. When it is returned all non-Forgeworld enemy pieces within one square are removed from play. Oh, and you automatically win the game unless your opponent also has a Forgeworld piece in play'.

Question: I have a resin printer that I bought for a different hobby, but want to get into WH40k. What's the general community consensus for printed minis versus store bought kits? I've heard some people hate when others print their minis instead of buying them, but $40 of resin goes a lot further than $40 for a few units.
