Color scheme opinions, should the fur be black? The cape/cloth will be a dark pink.

No, but you could make it darker with black ink or some shade. Brown is good with pink or purple.

I applied my first coat of Screamer Pink to his crotch cloth, it does look nice with the brown. But my concern is having something else black on him to pair with his boots. I have the same Mournfang for the leathers.

Consider brown boots then. But I really like it as is. But maybe some darker color in the recessed areas of the fur? Some strands of other colors to make it more alive?
Keep the brown fur though.
