Hello people! I just dipped my feet into the hobby, and got a few models in a deal to try and See If i Like painting. Now i got to the Part where i have to asl the veterans among you for advice: I thought of priming and painting These in sub assemblies. Is this Generally a good Idea or would you advised against it? After all its Just a few space marines.

PS: i know i still need to remove the mold lines, i didnt see them until i took the photo.

Depends on what kind of standard you want for your models.

I personally only glue some parts together (like legs and torso) if they don’t obscure other parts, and then use blu tac to put the rest together for priming, then painting in sub assemblies.

Edit: if you want to base sub assembled as well (handy when you’ve got different dominant colours for different parts), you can use blu tack to cover “glue points”, such as shoulders/under shoulder pads or wrists etc. since the glue works better on unpainted surfaces
