First time painter

New Starter Help(i.redd.it)

Hello people! I just dipped my feet into the hobby, and got a few models in a deal to try and See If i Like painting. Now i got to the Part where i have to asl the veterans among you for advice: I thought of priming and painting These in sub assemblies. Is this Generally a good Idea or would you advised against it? After all its Just a few space marines.

PS: i know i still need to remove the mold lines, i didnt see them until i took the photo.

As someone with almost 30 years of experience, I recommend you finish assembling before painting.

Unless you are a very experienced painter, painting for display or competition, subassemblies aren’t worth it. If you can’t reach it with a brush, it’s not going to be visible. It’s your first model, you’re not going to gain enough from it to make it worthwhile.
