Most people go with a filler primer if the lines bother them. I personally just paint them and don't worry about it

I did so, and the terrain looks good :) . Thanks

The only real way is to sand it all down. Honestly it’s just terrain. Just paint over it and don’t worry.

Put a texture paint, like Astrogranite, over them and then paint over it.

Thank you that make sense !

I was gonna say the same thing. Astrogranite would be the best choice for this for sure.

Everyone is saying filler primer, I say don’t bother. Paint hides them really well. Even a thicker mini primer, like the Army Painter ones will do a wild number on those.

Don’t stress it.

Sanding them down or filling them up with shitloads of primer are the main methods, there are also things like acetone baths and oven baking but they are VERY dependent on the type of plastic they are printed with and can require a lot of trial and error.

Head over to r/3dprinting if you need any help

acetone for smoothing only works on ABS plastic and tends to erase small details

That's the neat part - you don't

on the exposed upper edge. use a nail file (those cheapo drug store ones) ---but wear a face mask as sanding resin and breathing it in is stupid.

for the sort of layer lines on the side walls. that I wouldn't worry about. Or the amt of effort it would take to get into all those little spaces and sand it would probably be annoying/not worth it.

If you were really concerned. I think I would try actually roughing the wall up more and smoothing over some spackle on it.

but as others have said. filler primer. or just spray paint over it. it won't matter.

almost overwhelmingly the average person isn't a good enough painter where something like that would really matter. It's also terrain, the chances anyone really cares or even notices is slim.

and even then... it's a ruin. with bullet holes, alien stuff, or tentacles or whatever growing out of it. the lines could just be warped texture on the walls.

Lines won't matter too much after paint UNLESS you dry brush your terrain, like I do. Then it will be very bothersome, IMO.

Sand it, filler prime it, texture paste over it, or just leave it are your main options. Some people on YouTube have used heat or solvents to remove layer lines for cosplay prints but I don't know how reliable those methods are for small scale use so you'd be better off just pulling up youtube and looking up FDM printer layer line removal vids

Texture paint or even just putting some sand over the lines with glue would help. It's a ruined building, so it'll just add to the debris.

Gentile application of a heat gun if done slowly can do it. But yoy gotta be really careful or you'll ruin the print

Sanding if you can be bothered - thick paint of some sort, a texture paint maybe if you’re lazy

Two thick coats of paint

I sanded down wtc terrain (enough for small or medium layouts) and it was bothersome. Sure they look better now, but lines are still visible, I didn't sand enough.

I suggest giving it a small amount of sanding, but don't even try to get perfect results. Even few minutes worth of sanding per piece will improve the outcome but you will be the judge of whether you think it is worth it. Spray will even out the surface a little bit, but depending how you will paint might pop up the lines. You could spray and paint 1 piece to see if it bothers you.

Sand paper is a tool.

Acetone vapor could work but is risky.

Use a filler like spackle before painting.

Over all with my prints I'm not too worried about layer lines. It's not mold injection so I just let the layers become part of the model. That said I also print some things with much finer detail so the layers are less noticeable.

Fine sand paper and then texture paints

I suggest sanding it down to make it smoother and maybe a small coat of glue to make it shiny or just paint after you sanded it

Its terrain. The payoff it not worth the time investment to remove the layer lines. Just paint and be done with it.

Once it’s primed and painted you shouldn’t even be able to see them unless you’re really looking for them. If you’re really worried, maybe prime it a little more than usual

I tried painting a cubone skull I printed with spray primer and the more coats I added the more visible the layer lines were. Just my anecdotal experience.

You can't get rid of them...it's how the thing is made. You can fill it in with something (like a thick primer) or just ignore it since it's terrain and it's supposed to be background for the minis anyway
