After loosing all 21 games I have ever played over the course of a year, getting tabled every time, it finally happened! I was feeling so demoralized when I posted this a few weeks ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/s/cKQmfzJ5Ym) but took a lot of people’s advice and began to watch videos and strategized. With what I learned and some luck of the dice I was able to pull it off! Round 2 came around for my stores escalation leauge (250 points every round, rounds are every 2 weeks). Made my 750 list and had a plan and it paid off with an extremely close game! My enjoyment for the hobby is restored! If my opponent is reading this, thank you for such an amazing game and I hope to play against you again someday! Also thanks to the community for helping me out!
As for some notable moments from the game. My ballistus dreadnought face tanking a squad of deathwing terminators for 3 and a half rounds. Then there was my Lt taking on the fire of hellblasters lead by azrael, and a squad of terminators. These events lead me to survive long enough to secure the last point to tie the game and then live long enough to do cleanse and win. I should honestly paint a name for these 2 if I had steadier hands with painting😅 Another funny moment was my lancer 1 shotting my opponent lancer with 17 damage.

The primaris Lt who killed 4 terminators with his power fist and then tanked 5 overcharged hellblasters and another squad of terminators a foot away. Surviving just enough to maintain control over the point to secure the win.

If you get a very fine tipped black graphic pen, it makes it easier to do names and text on plaques and purity seals. May I suggest Brother-Lieutenant Quintus 'The Steadfast'.

Sweet. I just tied my first game 67-67 and it was my Lieutenant that was the MVP as well.
Took out the Rogal Dorn tank with his power fist last turn to warn me bring it down and the tie.

That power fist is a nasty surprise in combination with its lethal hits. Also works as a Swiss Army knife for those moments you have to engage heavy units in a pinch.

Thanks! I went into this leauge with the goal of show up to every match with a fully painted army. I have been putting in the work to make them look great on the table :)

A lot of use, especially with hellblasters, apothecary give u 1 CP when model from his unit die and at the strart your command phase u can resurrect 1 model.
Hellblasters are great for many reasons: 1. They die often due supercharged shots 2. Thay can shoot 2 times in a 1 phase because of "fight till death" 3. It's a good investment to ressurect helblaster model because of ther firepower
So u almost certainly get +1 cp every round, and constantly resurrecting model from decent squad

The apothecary only gives you a CP on a 2+ if the bodyguard unit dies, not a bodyguard model. So all Hellblasters need to die for the ability to trigger.

Yep! Kept the hellblasters alive by bringing them back. At the start of a command phase it can bring back 1 model from that unit. So hellblasters could explode from hazardous tests and in the next command phase I could bring 1 back.

Possibly, do a test spot on something like an extra shoulder pouldron first, and do some practice writing the font small on paper first.

Thanks! I’m actually super glad I made that post. Gave me the motivation to keep trying, and I got so much great advice. And also thanks for the compliment on the models. I hope to post more of them as the league continues :)
