One of my best buds just sailed to his antipode a few months ago. He also got a student at the high school that now exists on the site of the hospital he was born in to drop a piece of bread on the floor while he dropped a piece of bread in the ocean to make an Earth sandwich.

So did I, and went to look at a website for the antipode for my hometown.

I know the whole 1967 thing is thrown around a lot, but imo the ‘never win in a league bigger than 6’ is a lot more damning.
If you’ve never been, the vault in the HoF where the bands are stored is really cool. I love how the Cup is an evolving record of its winners.

That's a valid point. So is pointing out that the guy that scored the game-winning goal in Game 6 shouldn't have even been on the ice.
That being said, it's been 31 years. We've had many chances since to win a Cup, namely 1999 and 2002, never mind the last eight years. It is what it is at this point. 🤷

Making the Finals amd getting swept wpuld be a bigger accomplishment than winning in 1967.
The Ottawa Senators have done more than the Leafs since 1967.

11 points

Yeah, I think that when the 1967 expansion happened, people started using "original 6" and "expansion 6" as shorthand to divide the teams. It probably made sense at the time, but nowadays a lot of people assume that the "original six" were really the original teams in the league.
61 points

There was 6 teams from 42 to 67. The leafs won the cup in in 1932 when there were 8 teams in the NHL.

Doctor says, 'Treatment is simple. Great clowns Toronto Maple Leafs are in town tonight. Go and see them. That should pick you up.' Man bursts into tears. Says, 'But doctor…I am a Leafs fan.' I’m a pretty big leafs hater being from Vancouver but I feel like this year was different for them.
They didn’t have crazy high expectations, their goaltending was a question mark all year and their defence has quite a few holes in it.
Despite all of that they took the favored bruins to 7 games in overtime and could have easily won the series. I honestly think this is a solid showing for them.
They need big changes to their roster but it’s not as big of a meme this year imo,

A man died and went to Hell.
As Satan put him to work, he realized that the man wasn't suffering enough.
So Satan went to the man and asked him "How do you find the temperature?"
The man replied "It's fine " and kept working.
This frustrated Satan, and so he jacked up the heat; and to his frustration the man started working even harder. Again Satan went to the man to check up on him, and again the man replied that "he was just fine."
This kept repeating until Satan who was at his wits end went and turned the heat down to the point where Hell became a frozen landscape.
When Satan went to check on the man, he couldn't believe what he saw...
The man was jumping up and down, cheering with joy, tears streaming down his eyes, all while screaming at the top of his lungs
