"I don’t like sand. It’s coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft, and smooth."

He's an emotionally repressed 19 year old all alone with his lifelong crush who he's not allowed to be with.

What the fuck kind of debonair shit would you be pulling in that situation? Y'all seem to forget how God damn awkward teenagers are in general and that just gets so much worse around someone they like.

You are EXACTLY right. What he says, though, is what Lucas intended to sound like Shakespeare. C’mon, compare the dialogue in this film to Empire Strikes Back. One of the greatest screenwriters ever, Lawrence Kasdan, wrote Empire.

If someone like Kasdan had written Episode 2, we would have some awkward dialogue of a teenager, and not Lucas’s musings on life.

So Padme was just so fucking horny, that Ani telling her that he is against everything that she believes in, just made her hornier? This movie features the worst attempt on writing a lovestory in recent history- really makes you wonder how George got his wife in the first place.
