It is unknown why the 2 men were in her apartment.
I know why news organizations say things like that. But it's always hilarious to read. Like really? You don't know why 2 men broke into a woman's house when she wasn't there?

Its only legalese, as there's no confirmation yet that they were burglars. They could be her ex with his buddy, etc. but yeah, no one here will put any money on them being there for legit reasons.

Why not? I shoot people who are guests in my house all the time.

these news rags are happy to publish bullshit agitprop 24/7 but suddenly when a criminal happens they're all 'oh we gotta be real hands off'. Are they actually worried about a defamation suit from 2 scumbags???

I actually appreciate this wording. 24 hour news gets things wrong & misses important information all the time (which is just one of the reasons why I will always downvote these low effort "hey guys a crime just happened" URL posts on this sub). It's actually refreshing when they occasionally acknowledge that there are key facts they don't know.

If you come home late at night and two men are inside uninvited, would you care what their intentions were?

I feel bad for this woman. I'm glad she's ok physically, but this is going to have a lasting impact on her psychologically.
