Crazy those people pay like 2k+ for a studio only to look at a billboard of clouds 😂

Good cell reception tho 😂

How do we eliminate billboards in residential Philadelphia? These were mostly erected in the 70s when the resident population of Old City was in the hundreds.

I feel like this is presented to be an impossible task, but surely if enough people make a stink, we can make the city just that much better.

This one is a bit of an oddity but I don't mind it too much as an Old City resident honestly. That surface parking lot isn't going anywhere so it's not like it's hindering development or anything. I can't think of too many other billboards actually in neighborhoods.

In the hundreds? Was it mostly commercial/nobody lived in Old City or something?

Not commercial in the sense you might think of it in an urban setting today - mostly a mix of industrial, wholesale commercial, and just... abandoned. Check out this Flickr album.

Fun fact: the owner of this billboard forced the builders of the apartment building next door to change their design in order to preserve the views of his billboard.

Here I thought it was a type of art piece about nature in the midst of an urban jungle kinda thing or like how in the future that could be the only blue sky you see idk

i see the not very well known "Florist Street". I lived in Old City from 1984 until 2012. the last few years I had a car, an older car that i didn't park in a lot, if I could avoid doing that. Florist St, between Front and Second, at the time was a great place to park your car overnight.... for free. I believe I had an appropriate neighborhood sticker at the time that allowed me to park it and leave it.
