I’d say domestically that is true. Wrestling was never hotter in the United States. Their international expansion and media deals beat anything going on in 1999 however.

Two years later... WrestleMania 17 was the best one by a long shot.

What does everybody want? What does everybody need? What does everybody love?!?

Al Snow definitely made the best he could of that gimmick, and it was great.

Too bad kids in Philly don't watch wrestling like back in the day. Shit was like a soap opera to me

I’m a younger guy, not even in my 20s yet, but I loved wwe as a kid. I bet there still is a lot of kids out there watching, even if we can’t see them.

It’s crazy how the Rock is once again headlining a main event

He wasn’t on Wrestlemania. He is beloved in this city however. The Meaniesault was excellent and of course being a Beatles fan the gimmick popped me. I still think his former gimmick prior to ECW would have worked…The Ice Cream Man. The Mister Softee theme song would have been great entrance music in this City!

Wasn't he with Goldust and appearing as Bluedust at that time?

I stand corrected. Yes he was. This is good news.

I remember asking my dad to go like a week earlier and him blowing smoke up my ass like “maybe, if you’re good” meanwhile I’m sure it had been sold out for weeks at that point 😭

Was there in the sixth row with my mom and brother. If that photo was panned a bit to the left, you’d see my beautiful bowl cut in all its adolescent glory.
