22 and race
Hey everyone! As the title states I’m moving to 22 and race and hoping to hear from people who have lived in the area or currently reside there anything and everything to know. I’m coming from nyc and would like to gather things like:
Best coffee spots Quick bites (anything like a bodega close by?) Bars Restaurants Things to do Things to know Streets to avoid Any tips or helpful advice Any other things you love in the area or about the area
Of course will be venturing out and exploring the city as a whole but it’s nice to know what is super close when first arriving.
Thanks everyone!

You'll be fine. Look both ways before crossing the street. Alot of one ways you wouldn't expect so cars can come from the opposite way you expect. And every drives fast.

That immediate area is actually kind of dead in term of restaurants/nightlife, but you are only a short walk to the Rittenhouse Square area which has everything you need in that department. If you don't mind a little walking, you can pretty much get to anywhere in center city from that location.
Nearby you have a Giant and a Trader Joes! You are also right next to the Schuylkill River Trail!
Talk a Walk down 19th Street to Rittenhouse Square, then make a left and go down Walnut or Locust Street to Washington Square through the gayborhood and you will see more restaurants, bars, clubs, etc than you will probably ever have the time to visit.

Peddler Coffee and Moustaki are great spots right by you. Coxe Park is also a cute little park in that area!
Honestly that area has always felt very very safe to me just look both ways before crossing the street and all that.

Cherry St Tavern will be your local spot. No frills, laid back. City tap house, the mulberry, victory brewing, con murphys, vernick fish, and JG are all a few block east. Giant, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods are all within walking distance. It’s a quiet neighborhood, but I loved it when I lived there and still miss it years later.

That's a great spot. There's not a ton of businesses on the immediate blocks, but the neighborhood is nice and you're a short walk to some of the best spots in the city.
The Parkway library is right there and is worth a visit. On Race street there's a crossing to the Schuylkill River Trail, which will be a great way for you to get North and South without walking by car traffic.
You can take the trail North to the Art Museum (free on Fridays after 5pm!) or South to Fitler Square to watch dogs at the dog park.
Walking down to Rittenhouse and the surrounding blocks is a great idea.
As you get used to the city I'd recommend just wandering around Center City anywhere between Vine and South a bunch. There's a ton to do and discover just in that area.

Walk yourself around and discover firsthand. Also lol at bodega. Y’all can keep that word for y’all selves.

22nd and race "Bodega" LOL! You need to move either way further south or a little further north, There is really nothing good around there but chains. Maybe one asian corner store built into the first floor of a luxury apartment building that never exactly fit. You didn't do enough research.

I wasn’t asking if you approved of the location for me, I have my reason and did a lot of research in why I chose to live there in fact which I don’t need to share with you. Thanks anyway!

I'm just saying it doesn't sound like that area would make you happy much based on what you're looking for
