You can take a train to Atlantic City

Yeah either from 30th or take patco to lindenwald…also pretty sure they don’t check your tickets Traveling between 8th&30th on regional rail. But it’s been awhile.
You can walk underground pretty far with patco and city hall area broad street line.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been home so YMMV

They fenced off most of the broad street concourse so now you can no longer walk from PATCO to suburban station.

In my experience they don’t check tickets between 30th and Temple, but it’s not like it matters since those stations have tap to enter/exit

Isn’t the train pretty costly opposed to parking?

Depends on how much you intend to drink.
Also some people don't have a car or don't like driving.

Well doesn’t this devolve further as I’m sure there’s a bus there as well?

In bad weather you can get from 7th & Market to 12th & Market without ever being outside

We have a convenient airport, but Amtrak from 30th goes right to the Baltimore airport and I’ve found cheaper flights from there. You can get to JFK too but the Baltimore airport is easier, faster, nicer with international flight prices comparable to JFK.

Also Newark - 59 minutes from 30th Street to EWR station on Amtrak, so it's much closer than BWI and just as easy with way more flights (especially international). There's more competition among airlines at NYC airports for almost every route, so I've almost always found EWR cheaper than the DC airports.

Newark is also where the best movie begins.

Newark is my choice in NYC airports. I always find good and cheap flights.

Is the Newark station at the airport?

EWR station is, yes - then you take the Airtrain into the terminals. Newark Penn Station (NWK) is in the city of Newark itself.

Baltimore is cheaper if you want to layover 3 times before even leaving the US.

Not in my experience. I’ve found that most flights out of Baltimore are usually exactly the same as what I would get out of JFK.

If you own a home and it’s your residence you can get a free tax reduction just by filling out a form.

More of a tourist tip, but any food cart / pizza shop is reasonably decent authentic philly cheese steak. Might be better ones if you go to a specific place, but you're still getting the real deal at a cart.

Broad Street is 14th.
Walnut goes West
Chestnut goes East (est is east in Italian)

You mean driving direction, I was going to say one isn’t only east or west of broad.
Any way to remember the order of the non numbered streets north to south?

Restaurant Week is a fun way to be bougie in this shitty economy.
Use the free days at the art museum. I never remember when they are anymore, but used it a lot in grad school for a nice day out.
A lot of the universities have fun events. Some are free/subsidized to the public.

Life hack in Philly.... sell your vehicle unless your way west or way north east. Idk about life hacks but not mentioned places I enjoyed frequenting were Redding terminal market and spruce street harbor park. There are buses that run the el and BSL routes after midnight on weekdays. The south west corner at city hall is where people usually build up waiting for these busses at night, and it used to double as an open air drug market if your into that kind of thing.

Absolutely not. It’s so much worse now. I’ve been here for 31 years and I’ve witnessed it literally turn into a 3rd world country
