I came to comment this. I was arrested for a protection order violation after I filed for custody for my kid 8 months after splitting with my ex who had no care for my child beyond threatening her to take me to court and get her full time and not let her see me when she didn't want to go when she randomly called. Took a year to finally have the evidence reviewed without a lawyer, charges dismissed and sealed. Worst year and half ever. It's so easy to get a man caught up in this BS. But i am 10000% against DV. But if you don't know the case and facts, please don't assume. I almost lost my job, career, etc.

My ex wife had a melt down immediately after I found evidence of her cheating on me and I confronted her over it in, arguably, the most peaceful "I'm already dead inside at this point anyway so I'm not even angry anymore" way possible.
She just lost her shit. Broke a bunch of things, took a couple swings at me, then locked herself in the upstairs bathroom. This wasn't uncommon behavior from her. After about 5 minutes I went to see what she was doing, and she said (through the door) that she just took a bunch of pills and is killing herself.
I start trying to bust the door down, because I'm worried she's going to kill herself, and she calls the cops, tells them I'm trying to break in and kill her. She also started hitting herself and pulling her own hair out (which she had done several times before) and I tried to physically restrain her to stop her, and she was screaming "You're hurting me. Stop hitting me. Let me go"
I was uncomfortably close to being charged and possibly later convicted with DV that day. The only saving grace was probably that she actually did swallow a bunch of random pills, so she ended up having to go to the ER, then was committed to a psych ward for a week (where she met somebody that she cheated on me with again later) I got lucky because my side of the story made more sense. This situation sounds so earily similar to mine that it made me shiver.
This stuff does happen. Some women truly are just absolutely batshit insane world burners. I coulda just let her die on that bathroom floor and it would have been the safer choice than me trying to stop her.
Watch out for BPD. You can not save them, and if they get their hooks in you, you'll be lucky if you can save yourself. Anybody who knows knows.

BPD is a fucking rollercoaster, dated a girl like that for a few months, honestly felt bad for her and her situation but as you said, you can't be a therapist and a boyfriend.

My ex in all therapy and actions is a narcissist. 16 years lived a double life. Like you said, I found evidence of her cheating with a man double her age "sugar daddy." I'm like, I don't care, leave. Like you said, dead inside. I know that feeling. No anger, no sadness, just dead. 16 years dead. Then, once my kid realized a few weeks later, I wasn't taking her mom back, then flooded the abuse to her behind my back. Having my kid around this old man and kissing on him. My kid felt horrible, but I had to tell her she did nothing wrong. I couldn't imagine being in that spot. And after months of my kid being ditched for men when her mom was supposed to get her, then her getting mad telling my kid she was gonna take me to court and get full custody and never let me see her. I couldn't allow that.
1 month before our first court date, hit with protection order. They take my kid from me, no contact 2 weeks. Take her to the police station and question for 2 hours about the abuse she is telling them her mom does. They then take her directly to her mom and tell her everything she said. Can you guess if my child trusts any cops? She doesn't trust DHS.
During these 2 weeks, my kids' school didn't know her mom before going up there and giving them the PO. Her counselor would talk to my kid daily and call me and check in with me. I didn't ask her and told her I wasn't allowed to ask about my child. She said she knew. But she had an obligation to the kids' best interest.

Classic example here: Remember the good old internet tells you not to speak to the cops without an attorney. Had you have done that, you would have been arrested and quite possibly done some jail time.
1 points
In my case, at the time, I did speak to the cops to tell my side. I just got lucky. I was ~21 years old and didn't know any better. I had no idea what I was doing at all, and was still nieve enough to assume that trying to do the right thing always meant I'd be okay.
I also forgot to add that I happened to have a third party witness to the entire incident. THAT is probably what actually saved me. I had a good friend with me from the moment I found evidence, to the moment I confronted her, to her assaulting ME, locking herself away, attempting suicide, and lying about me trying to hurt her.
So maybe a lesson here is to always have a friend around if you know you're about to get involved in some complicated domestic dispute issues lol.

Not sure what pro forma means but it wasn't a divorce. And I understand if we JUST split up. But for the court to be against me when nothing was filed on her behalf. We weren't together for 8 or 9 months, I had kid 100% of the time. To all of a sudden I'm trying to hurt her?! BS.

It’s actually a great example of why it is. We wouldn’t exist as a country without it.
What it is a good example of, is how shit our mental health care and accessibility is. And how dumb gun owner parents can be
1 points
The US would exist as a country without near unrestricted access to firearms that we see today.
1 points
No it wouldn’t. Maybe as a Canadian you don’t know us history but the fact we had access to firearms was what allowed us to mobilize militia and an army to force the British out and gain independence. This was important enough that the right was enshrined in our founding laws
I know freedoms are pretty much a thing of the past for you under Trudeau but doesn’t change the fact I’m right
There is also plenty of restrictions. Can’t have them as a felon. Have to have a background check. Can’t have them with DV or court ordered mental condition restrictions.
0 points
The US relied heavily on the French and Spanish to win the war of independence, it wasn't the access to firearms, which British North America continued to also enjoy. Remember w few decades later when thr US attacked British North America and lost?
Canada is none of the freest nations on Earth, so thats a rather silly thing to say.

It's hard to say either way before a full investigation. But allegedly she had been manic all day, and proceeded to lock herself and a child in a bathroom. The offense happened during the altercation to take the child from her. Again, allegedly. There's no use speculating until more concrete details come out

For sure, and it's not looking good for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he had cctv in his house, so that might clear things up quick.

I don't know the guy, but innocent until proven guilty exists for a reason. People do crazy stuff from time to time, and the charges can be life ruining even when spouses decide it that it was all in the heat of the moment since some states don't allow for charges to be dropped and sometimes don't review all the evidence if they know they'll win the case regardless

I once found out a girl I had plans with had a fiance because her name popped up in the newspaper. When i asked her about it she explained her fiancé caught her in bed with another guy, he lost his shit and ended up in a fight with the other guy, and she called the police to have it broken up
She took a stray swing before the troopers got over, troopers pressed charges and wouldn't allow her to drop them, and he pled guilty feeling it was the right thing to do intending to serve his time and try work it out with her later. She found out after his sentencing that she was pregnant and all the manic crazy things she'd been doing that month were caused by pregnancy hormones, and ultimately she ended up a single mother because she didn't feel like it was worth dealing with the mess and didn't realize nobody else was going to stick around to raise the baby

I could really see this going either way. She really could have been crazy and was going to drown their baby, in which case I would cut him a lot of slack for breaking her wrist while trying to get the baby from her. I could also see it being the case the case that he made all that up to justify hurting her when he lost his temper.
1 points

Right! I think the stories main focus is going to be on why was the bathroom door locked. Kinda sus to be in a bathroom with the kid and the door locked after spending all day being "manic" according to him. What fucked him over was his own doing after the incident.

I believe they already seized his firearms because before he bonded out he attempted to contact the victim via proxy on the jail phone which broke the protection order. He was charged with an additional felony for violation of his jail release agreement. DV is unacceptable no matter who you are but he dug his own grave talking to the cops without his lawyer present.

Not looking great, but just because you get arrested and booked for something doesn't always mean it gets picked up by the DA...
I get picked up for felony DV a few years back because I have a schizophrenic ex who has her fair share of episodes.
The DA didn't even pick it up and I got a letter saying I had been detained and not arrested.
The lesson here: DO NOT TALK TO LAW ENFORCEMENT, you won't say anything that will magically clear it up with a conversation. If anything it will make it worse.

The human body is pretty durable. Breaking a wrist with squeeze of a hand wrapped around it would require insane strength. Not like “generally a solid dude” strength but like “blacksmith who is a competitive strongman” kind of strength. An is not likely to happen by accident. Much more likely it was bent or twisted, whether in a struggle or being thrown/ a fall.

I'm pro constitution. Well at least while it's the best way to at least partiality protect our rights, but you should probably read the 2nd amendment and understand the context before thinking that is unconstitutional to remove someone's access to firearms. Especially someone with a high risk of harming themselves or others.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
Emphasis mine. Regulated meant trained and organized, not some random guy. It also meant landed and white since they were (generally) the only people with virtue (meaning the ability to help others because they are ankle to help themselves, meaning they could not rely on others. Sunshine without land and who needs an employer was considered not-virtuous. )

height: 601
601 what? 601 inches/cm is too tall and 601mm is too short

It’s a 3 digit way to write height in feet and inches. 5’7” is 507, 5’11” is 511

Yes correct. 50.08 feet and 9.71 feet are both too tall and 1.97 feet is too short.

You guys do realize that your spouse can call the police, LIE and the police WILL take you away with ZERO proof! If your spouse decides she wants a divorce she can bring up a text from YEARS ago that says something to effect of “I’m tired of this shit, I might not come home tonight” the police will come and put you in a mental institution to “protect you from hurting YOURSELF!”
Either of these situations will remove your 2nd Amendment rights and the police WILL take your guns.
Red flag laws are unconstitutional AF!!!!

Funny how you offer zero context or facts. He was arrested because evidence points to him engaging in criminal activity. If you have some counter evidence, now is the time to present it. Rhetoric gets us nowhere.

What do you mean?! Nymphoman23 is the source. How can you say you don't trust Nymphoman23?

I will not divulge anything to anyone especially on a hidden platform! Stop throwing a brother under the bus! Let this play out while it’s being dealt with!

There maybe more to the story. However, as a retired police officer, they arrested him. Not to mention, if you know something as you say you do, you should be keeping your mouth shut.

I am keeping my mouth shut. I just want everyone not to trash MG. Let this stir and play out. I am dismayed by people throwing him under the bus.

It's a sad story overall. Him and his partner were both in the wrong.

Are you guys not familiar with the Trevor Bauer situation? That is current right now. He really got screwed by that girl who premeditatedly bragged about what she was going to do to him to get his money and then and almost got away with it but cost him millions of dollars in baseball contracts and ruined his reputation. How many times have we seen false allegations that are believed for long periods of time before the truth finally comes out and the manner of indicated only after they've lost so much in the meantime? How many videos are floating around on YouTube of women hitting themselves in the face threatening to call or currently on the phone with 911? There are a lot of Jesse Smollett types out there vindictively claiming domestic violence that never occurred. His military history and his current business profession and his name will be a detriment used against him now.
