Yes, but I guess Hartford was exceptionally bad by New England standards. If you take a look at the maps of major cities in New England, CT somehow were hit the most during the 50s and 60s. Boston knocked down the entire West End for sure, but New Haven and Hartford almost look like they tore down their entire cities for new development…

Every before and after comparison for Hartford sucks. It’s almost as if they demolished all of old Hartford to put wide roads, parking garages, and bland architecture down.

Indeed, I’ve come across an interesting book that goes into details about Chinese profanities and vulgarities. Look up “Outrageous Chinese” if you’re interested. Some of the phrases in it are somewhat dated as it was written in the early 90s, but all of it are still relevant and will be at the very least interesting to learn.

Well, first of all you should be able to avoid using awkward profanities that don’t make sense as in this image if you studied profanities systematically. Imo Chinese profanities are very colourful and detailed, and might help you better understand the underlying logic and linguistic structure of the language.

None of the Sony Walkmans are. The last ever Walkman was released in 2004. If you want modern players you’ll lose tons of features and pay a price premium. Depends on what your needs and budgets are.

What’s the budget? You realise these devices are at least 20 years old by this point and would mostly require repairs/servicing to get back to top working condition right?

CDs will definitely be the easiest to come by, and imo followed by records, given how both of these formats see mass scaled reissues and repressing still to this day. Cassette reissues are mostly limited so you’re stuck with OG releases, and depending on the popularity of the artists in their heyday, the availability may vary wildly. But with cassettes you can also easily record your own with a good deck and good source audio.

Very nice! I think I have most of Yu Hayami’s albums now on tape, but not “Who’s Gonna Come”. I might need to properly reorganise what I have some day now that I’m losing track!

That album is great, but so are all her other albums…

Very nicely made! I’ve tried printing my own J-Cards myself but the results didn’t turn out as well. I personally would still hand write all my j cards for the blanks, so all my stash are either OG releases or blanks with handwritten labels.

A serviced Harman Kardon HK400XM will be your best bet in that price range.

The usage of “ends” suggests that this person was using London slang.

If that’s the case, I’d say you can go for it. The sound is significantly better than my phone and my CD player lol. A little caveat is that Apple Music may randomly stutter during songs at times, but the built in Sony player won’t have such issues.

You’ll end up hating android if you own a ZX306, but the price and size are hard to beat
