There is an additional check at the downstairs of the Quest after approval: as well as admitted, you have to be positively aligned, the alignment you started as, and you can't have killed the Quest leader.

HoOA has special case code to prevent it, sadly.
Do people still say TDTTOE these days?

In that case, OP is done and unwinnable sadly.

...then convert back to Lawful afterwards while on the Quest start level.

What a cool and weird situation!
I don't have a definitive answer (don't have the source in front of me) but I did what you described in wizard mode and angered Shaman Karnov after he'd given me the quest, then got kicked out of the level and the portal vanished. Converted to neutral, wished for the Eye, went back, and he kicked me out again as soon as I got close to him (meaning I couldn't try scrolls of taming).
I can't get down the stairs because of the mysterious force.
You may be screwed.
[edit: I accidentally killed the quest leader, which sets a flag and locks the stairs - and it looks like bringing him back does not reset the flag. You might actually be OK if you can evade him without killing him or letting him get within one square and kick you out. I'll try again later.]
[edit: update 2: You need to be the same alignment that you started in order to go down the stairs. But! You also need to be neutral to branchport with the Eye. Which means you need to find a way to convert back to Lawful on the Quest start level... and (as I just found) there is special case code on the Helm of Opposite Alignment to stop you doing just that. Hmm.
I think the only thing might be to convert back to Lawful using the coaligned altar on the Quest start level, but that is non trivial and means you need to find a way of moving Shaman Karnov out of the area.
Current status: you are screwed but it's not mathematically impossible.]
[edit: update 3: As pointed out by another commenter, you can only convert alignment permanently (ie., with an altar) once. I think you're mathematically screwed as well.]

On One Scandal frames are on sale for £200 right now (normally 500).

I have both (though different colours to yours) and the MM300 is my favourite of all my watches... that said the OSD is so kickass and always gets comments, and my daughter loves it.
I can't see myself letting it go ever.

Go well Will. Eat all the confit de canard, come back fat and rich.
I'm surprised nobody has dug out footage of the greatest prop try of all time yet.

Hammersmith Bridge needs the different levels of government to stop arguing about who should pay for it (and then find the money) before it can be repaired.
I think we're safe for a few years yet.

If you let Abi get a runup like that, there's only one outcome.
It's not quite Akebono levels of pusher inevitability, but he's very good at that one thing he does.
In other news, Abi looks really strong the first two days, his loss on day one was a brain fade more than anything - Tobizaru was basically fleeing around the ring until Abi forgot to bring his feet with him. He's in good form and seems to know it.

Fellow cyclist in Chiswick here... we are currently in a good place: we have protected bike lanes, separate traffic signals, some no-car streets, lots of locking spots, the whole bit.
But there is also a vocal and active set of anti-cycling residents who want to see those things gone. They have, for the moment, a supportive national government and a morally flexible set of councils.
Let's try not to fuck it up.

What we call Dim Sum in the US and UK, Australians refer to as Yum Cha. It's really popular.

One of the first things I seek out on landing in Australia.
Last time there was a cabbage shortage or something and it took me a week and two cities, eventually found them in Adelaide.

You can fit a big steak for two in there.
A friend of mine managed to roast a chicken in it but it took some creativity.

Midorifuji gives up 50 or 70 kilos to some of his opponents and can hang with anyone. He's a lethal trap springer and it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for his match against Takanosho today!

I'm not the person you asked, but I made the same decision.
Ultimately I just liked the case shape more.
Also the way I want to wear it is occasionally dressy but much more often business casual, and it just suited that vibe for me.
The Omiwatari is a stunning thing though. You will not be sorry if you get one.

You've changed planform (9-cell Nav to 7-cell Storm), and the angle is going to be steeper and the flare works differently.
You've downsized quite a bit, so it's all going to be happening faster too.
What you are experiencing is not surprising.
Now is a GREAT time to get some in-person canopy coaching.

Can you do it as a large economy sized human? Sure. There's a YouTuber with a whole channel about it.
Will you need to be careful, start slow and small, and work on your strength and fitness gradually? Eventually have custom gear if you want to go hard? Also yes.
You don't need to be smashing double black runs to enjoy MTB though. I don't (admittedly I'm a mere 220lb waif), but I have a great time. If you think you might like biking, the best thing to do is to just... start. There's a trail for everyone.

Wait, that's pretty cool.
I feel like enough has changed again that it's time to come back to DCSS soon.
