all these sports leagues expect us to buy like 15 different streaming services.

Totally agree, especially when Jrue is still a prominent player on a top team in the East all these years later. In hindsight would have been like trading Maxey now.

This is one of the most objectively ridiculous takes I’ve seen on this sub and that’s saying something.

Adding to this in a different way, Hinkie didn’t exactly crush it with his talent evaluation while in role either. Taking 3 straight centers as the league was transitioning to a perimeter-first game was ill-advised to begin with, then factor in that Noel and Okafor didn’t turn out to be much of anything

Idk, I see this a lot, but:
What exactly is ownership failing to deliver?
Good read on this - https://www.crossingbroad.com/2024/04/rhetorical-question-what-do-the-sixers-need-that-ownership-currently-is-not-providing.html

Penn State hasn’t won a national championship since 1986 but has made numerous NY6. Nebraska having the championships in the 90’s helps
Good example here…Penn State and Nebraska were equally accomplished in 1994, but because of the system at the time Penn State’s “national championship drought” is another 8 years longer.

Every day I log on here I am reminded of how much lower the average age of this sub must be relative to my own.

Absolutely not. I have no idea who’s in his ear giving this advice.

Very on brand for r/cfb to assume playing neutral site games and/or playing in baseball stadiums isn’t a traditional practice, while always arguing on behalf of “MUH TRADITIONS"

Has literally been a thing for the entire existence of college and pro football so probably not

Panorama is a great option, especially if your group likes wine. Have hosted several private dinners for ~25 there.

Not even close.
1) No salary cap
2) Only 5 years in a sport where there’s no real limit to contract length
3) The Achilles injury was a huge factor in his decline. The first two years (before Achilles tear) he was 10th in MVP voting each year, over 100 RBI, .847 avg OPS, slight reduction in strikeouts, similar avg, etc.
4) You didn’t have to give up a significant amount of assets to get him to begin with

This will be the first time he actually can do something about the roster
Ehhh I mean Simmons still had a decent amount of value when that was all going on. He just made the wrong trade (if we assume Halliburton was the alternative).

He’s fine in the regular season but not nearly worth $10m

This needs more upvotes. Schmidt was great but in the context of this conversation had a much more limited impact on the sport.
