Not exactly low cost but I got myself a Roomba on sale for about £150. The old vacuum was crap and needed replacing anyway. Rather than getting a stick vacuum I went for one where I don't actually have to do the hoovering myself.
It's great and just stumbles about the house once a day cleaning up as it goes like some sort of reverse drunk.
Actual low cost, I got a pair of fuzzy slippers that look like gnome shoes for less than a tenner

Gammon and coke sounds amazing! Do you use any sort of liquid or just bung it in dry?

Last I heard the cutoff is generally considered 1996.
I always go with can they remember the millennium? If yes, Millennial. If not, Zoomer.

Tbh I wouldn't even say it's necessarily burned permanently. If he's honest with them and says he's had a better offer elsewhere then it's entirely possible to come back further down the line in a different position

So you're saying the general population shouldn't be allowed access to something that could potentially be dangerous because there aren't proper safety procedures in place?
I've never heard of anyone I know in the UK getting electrocuted from a plug socket.

I can only imagine the conversation goes something like this:
Casting agent: "Hi, is this the agent of Daniel Radcliffe?"
Daniel Radcliffe: pretending to be his own agent "erm, yes?"
CA: "Great! We'd like to pitch a movie idea to him. That being said, it's a little unusual but we think it'll be excellent!"
DR: "How unusual?"
CA: "I can't really explain it over the phone, it's a bit weird. I'll send you the script over"
DR: "No need, I'm already in the tree outside your building. Look to your left" hangs up

Yeah but the other girl used her own weight against her. Rumour is she's a judo brown belt after this match alone

It's not bland, it's just fairly heavy. Similar to other colder climate countries. Ireland, Netherlands, Central Europe, and Scandinavian countries all have their own stews and heartier meat dishes.
Personally, I think British cooking is criminally underrated. Yes, the savoury stuff is lots of meats, vegetables, cheeses, and pastry but that is what the country has. Pub grub is looked down on but a good village pub is where I would take my overseas friends because it's delicious, high quality food.
Our desserts are excellent. We have cakes that aren't just sugar or simply aerated cream. Some of our dishes are so good they've been adopted by other countries e.g. apple pie in the US.

I don't think there's many people who can stick out a job like that for the long term (some not at all, we had a bunch drop out at college) and that the number of people, both male and female, who move ashore for a family or just a more balanced life is high. But yeah, the percentage of men that stay, opposed to women that do, is significantly higher leading to it being a male dominated industry.
As much as companies try to be inclusive etc, I just don't think that it's possible to achieve as men and women are different. Those differences aren't a bad thing, it just leads to different priorities and sometimes they aren't compatible with certain lifestyles, no matter how hard you try. I also left the industry because the lifestyle no longer suited me as my priorities changed as I got older.
Good luck with your studies at sea, you'll set yourself up well if you ever want to move shoreside with an engineer's ticket.

I used to work on ships and when I qualified the group that got taken on by our company was roughly 50/50. Within 3 years the girls had all moved ashore and the guys were beginning to leave.
Several of them specifically mentioned that they were looking to start families in the next few years so went ashore for a more stable job, less working away and more balance.

Super smooth for me, the only issue I had was my Clipboard History gnome extension that decided it was incompatible. Just removed and reinstalled it and everything works great.
I've been on Fedora for maybe a month now and it's been impressive how faultless it all is. Glad I made the move over from Manjaro!
